No the body won't fit n the cf brakes r not cosmetic. They r attached to the throttle servo.

Re: MY 5B
cf brake discs won't be a good idea IMO.cf isn't famous for heat dissipation(one of the reasons why you don't see a nitro car with a cf chassis
).You would want aluminium discs or something. As you start using the brakes, they will heat up way too much.Even though they are vented,I doubt they can stand up to the temperature cycles proper brake discs are designed for.

Re: MY 5B
Well CF disc brakes are being currently used by all major high end 1/8 Kit manufacturers.
HotBodies D8/D8T for reference has cf discs.
And the reason why CF chassis are not common in offroad cars is not because of heat issue but cos CF has a tendency of chipping on impact. A lot of nitro onroad cars come with CF chassis but offroad cars have stayed away though extensive testing on CF offroad chassis has been done and its been found that CF tends to crack upon heavy impact.

Re: MY 5B
This is news to me.(the fact that cf brake discs are being used).Isn't it a necessity with brakes to have good heat dissipation?I would have thought that manufacturers would replicate ceramic brake discs but cf!!?

Re: MY 5B
Ok, CF will gain less heat, very less compared to metal.
Try out yourself, get a piece of CF (Probably from a damage bike cowl) and a metal scale (ruler), rub them against something rough at high speed, the idea behind is to provide max resistance, and then touch them, you would see that although both get heated but the metal one is more hot and heat is dissipated throughout the ruler but CF one is heated minutely at the rubbed edge.
Its very simple to Do

Re: MY 5B
But do it outside the house and with your nose and mouth covered with a thick cloth. For what I've read, carbon fiber particles are hazardous to health.
BTW I have also noticed this, CF rods rubbed like crazy and was cold to touch. Was the heat dissipated better or it didn't absorb enough heat; i'm not sure how to explain this

Re: MY 5B
This means that CF rod din got heated enough and the heat transfer was not much too.
From the brakes point of view, this is good
