I believe body pins and machine screws are easily available locally.
I tried few rc local websites for body pins and could not locate any. Any one knows any place?

Traxxas parts are cheap quality too. Gotta stock tonnes of spares. They probably make more in spare sales than in actual car sales lol.

And wow, was that delivery fast- my previous parcel via usps took 35 days--which service of theirs did you use? Or which website did you order from?

I have not owned a Traxxas myself but from friends and forums they look solid and Butch
I got the parts from Amain, Air priority - their 2nd cheapest option

Congratulations, you should soon be back to grinding some rubber on the tracks.

I believe body pins and machine screws are easily available locally.

all the best!  Thumbs Up

gs

Thanks !
The pins i could not find on any indian sites. Do you have any suggestions ?

The screws... well i was just being lazy to go n search my LHS (Local Hardware Store Cheesy )
Less hassle, exact fit and the value proposition made me buy

cheers!

Update !!!

The re-build went well, here is a time lapse video i made ->

The music tracks i selected as a background got rejected by Youtube... copyright stuff...

Anyways,
After the build on Saturday, Tank 8 happened on Sunday.... a mixed bag really. Car stalled a lot of times, ran high idle (later traced to position of servo horn and rectified) and finally refused to start altogether after the next refill.

Drained the tank of all fuel, then thick nitro goop came out of the exhaust when the car was tilted. (Car was idle for 2 weeks only)
Maybe that was the reason behind starting trouble.

I can only find out today.

Cheers !

Hello all, an update was long overdue !

After a disappointing tank 8 then next day on May 01 i attempted tank 9 ... much better still felt that the initial acceleration was sluggish.

Decided to tackle it on Sunday 6th May- My full RC day, Flying int he morning and car in the evening.

So on Sunday, with 3 new things, the car ran much much better -

1. New fuel - Rapicon 20% from LHS
2. Idle gap adjusted as per the car behaviour, with LSN (Low Speed Needle) leaned out by 1/2 turns

This basically solved the acceleration, it is quite snappy now !!

3. after running through a full liter of fuel, decided to tune the HSN (High speed needle), Plety of top speed now

But......

at the end of Tank 13, noted the rear wheels locking up.
After clearing up the dirt and pebbles, it still persisted.

A further investigation revealed that both the bearings in rear differential had given up and locked solid.

So now waiting for the new set to arrive and replace the old.

a few pics are attached.... will share vid of it running after i get it fixed... maybe by next weekend

Cheers !

That engine needs more running in... Feeling the might is exciting but do consider the overall life... i'd let it run a rich a couple of more tanks.

Hi Friends,

Sharing an update.
Finally things seem to fall in place after a rocky start.

Girish, thanks for the advice but i'm, going to stay fairly lean on the HSN now.
I say fairly as i feel there is stills scope to lean out and extract a better top whack out of that engine.

Bearing replacement-
Got replacement bearings from rcmart.com, brand "Yeah Racing". They were the exact fit !
Thank God this buggy does not use some special dimension bearings which are hard to find.

In the pic one can see the rear transmission box, new shiny bearings already installed on the outer side, old jammed ones lying discarded and some lube i put.
Actually you can't lube a sealed bearing but for some peace of mind  Grin

Rear wheels are noticeably smooth after this transplant  Thumbs Up

Here is the video of my run yesterday, sorry for low light, it was around 8 pm.
Running plenty fast and love that engine note  Clap

It was Run# 14 and 15 this Sunday.
I was finally at peace knowing that all the effort running in / setting up / tinkering is paying off.

I will keep you posted on any modifications i make or any interesting videos that I can capture ( for example its first jump  Grin )

Cheers !

For bearings try out avid bearings or jims bearings.
Both are really good quality, especially the avid revolution. Ceramic if budget permits.

Hey Anshik,

Here in Mumbai www.hobbycentral.co.in is pretty good as per my experience.
Just be sure to call the number provided on the website before actually making the purchase.
You shall get the updates about stocks / prices etc.

I'm sure you shall get many other suggestions from good people here.

Cheers !

I had got mine from a friend.
He had bought it and never opened the box as life kept him busy Smiley

Although there are many options on Banggood and Aliexpress, I don't want to recommend them as I have never ordered anything from them and most likely never will.

Maybe someone else could share their experience with these 2 sites.

PM me for more info.

Cheers!

I had ordered a 1/10 scale electric truggy without any electronics (no Tx/Rx, motor esc etc.) from banggood and the shipping method selected was "Expedited Shipping Service". I did receive the item after 20 days after lot of follow up calls with DHL. India customs charged duty on it and I had to pay it to DHL. Later banggood had reimbursed that amount to me.

I also had ordered a 1/10 scale electric buggy without any electronics (no Tx/Rx, motor esc etc.) from aliexpress and the shipping method selected was "China Post Registered Air Mail". This I received in 10 days and there was no customs duty to pay.

Banggood - I think, if you select "Expedited Shipping Service", it will go through DHL and they always goes through customs check. And there can be delay (because india customs take their own sweat time to clear items)
Aliexpress - IMO always select Aliexpress Standard Shipping.

Hi Friends,

My Kyosho DBX is on sale.

Please follow my thread in "for sale" section for details-

http://www.rcindia.org/for-sale/110-rc-nitro-buggy-kyosho-ready-to-run-withwithout-radio-for-sale/

Reason for sale - making space for new items.
