plug is ok.....it's color is orange while glowing....
fuel contains 400ml+ methanol and 100ml castor oil....
actually the engine was starting but for short time...ie..5-10 sec only after that it will stop running

wrong mixture.. u should at least have 15 % nitromethane .. added to the blend.these small engines cant hold idling without nitro .....  in 1litre of fuel this shld be the blend.

150ml nitromethane
180ml castor oil
670ml methanol

People run glow engines without any nitromethane, but getting them to idle well is a tough proposition. Delicate modification of the needles (especially low needle) would be required. You can also experiment with a hotter plug.

i suggest but a branded fuel like rapicon or tornado or power glo.. initially.. i will mess up the engine otherwise with the settings.. leave it to default and start the car using any of these fules.. u can buy them from rotor.co.in / rcskyhobby.com/ jackshobbies.in .. i m sure they do shipping to ur place..

At this point, it looks like a tuning problem alone. Make a good note of where the default needle settings are, before making changes.  Even better take it to someone local who has experience.

Just out of curiosity, if you keep the car above half throttle just after starting (I guess you can left it up and leaves the tires hanging in the air), does it run longer, or die quicker ?

first make sure your needle settings are in good tune or factory settings. heat your engine to 150 degree Fahrenheit . and try starting.

if its dying quicker with a shrill engine note richen the HSN or if it bogs lean out the HSN . and make sure there is no leaks in the system and check your bearings too for grittiness . and take it to someone who knows nitro engines if u know anyone there. or call the person who sold it . Smiley

My experience says - nitromethane "MUST" for these small car engines

and PLEASE use fresh fuel with nitro 15% atleast, upto 25% (just read that you're using homebrew), id suggest to use branded ones for cars even if u 'can' make your own fuel , doing that alone reduces half the tuning issues. made fuel will work if you've done it right but still its better to rely on the people who have been making and selling the branded fuels.

thats what we have been trying to say. use good fuel to maintain the engines idle and tune accordingly . mostly its the fuel since its homebrew and cars need nitromethane to SUSTAIN the idle.

otherwise there are many many things that can go wrong . like fuel lines and tank pressure and leakage, bad bearing, dirt, tune. orings, worn out piston sleeve, cracks, etc etc , asking vague questions wont help . ask the seller for help as he will know it best.

Mugen Seiki Rules

Trouble shooting engine online is very difficult. Take it to the person who sold it or an experienced hobbyist. Basically get rid of the chemical you call fuel and get some bottled fuel. Car engines need good fuel to start and idle.

Reset needles to factory. It will start rich. Slowly lean from there.

See this thread, great tips
