Title: Nitro RC Truck
Post by: perlaabhinavraj on October 09, 2010, 06:00:27 PM
Hi everyone,

i am a student and am very new to RC world.
i am planning to build a nitro rc truck for IIT Bombay sp4mm3r.

but i found out from a few searches that only engines and electronics are available in Hyderabad (i couldn't find any shop that would sell Differentials, Suspensions, bevel gears or dog bone shafts)

so i am planning to get a Savage X SS 4.6 (it is an unassembled kit) shipped from US and it costs around 400$+100$(shipping)
but it doesn't contain servos and transmitter or receiver in its kit.

So overall its costing me around 22,500Rs for the kit and 2000Rs for the 2 servos and 5000Rs for 2.4GHz transmitter and receiver
the total cost is around 30,000Rs
and thats a bit hard on my pocket

If someone could suggest some alternative.I would be most thankful.

Why dont you get something easier to build since you are going to build rather than use as personal car? And isnt 4.6cc too much for competitions. Get something cheaper like a TT or GS racing and build, dont waste your time and money on a savage if its only for college projects.

MTA4 would be too big for the IIT sp4mm3r.. I suggest you go for EB4 S3 Buggy or TT ST1 Truggy or GS racing CL-1 Buggy Or GS Racing Truggy.. Can give you the contact for both.. Let me know which one you want.. Please do your research before you buy.. Buggy is best for racing.. Both will be less than 24k..

the terrain for the competition if off road and the obstacles in the path are quite big.
so i was thinking of trucks rather than buggies or truggies.
they also specified a min wheel diameter as 3"
