I forgot to mention that I live in Koramangala. I am new to this hobby so I don't have that much experience.
I have a Thunder Tiger phoenix BX buggy.

    * Bronze bushings throughout
    * Racing ball-bearing differential
    * Oil-Filled moulded composite shocks
    * Countersunk moulded chassis
    * Adjustable camber, squat, wheelbase and wheel postion
    * Adjustable servo saver assembly
    * Quadra-symmetric suspension
    * Optimised front end geometry
    * Race winning transmission
    * Adjustable slipper clutch
    * Stub axles and dog bones

 Also how much did yout TC4 cost with or without electronics? Where did you get it?

It also came with a glow booster & fuel bottle totally free. ;D ;D

Also bought a sanwa 2.4ghz buggy radio from the them with 18 model memory and the radio is just great.

Planning to buy one GS Racing buggy to add to my collection.

@Gurpinder,

Do you know any places in Bangalore to buy rc car stuff other than Modelart?

@RCKatty,

Which city do you live in? If Bangalore, where in Bangalore do you go off-roading?

The races mostly happen every alternate weekend at a place called Pitstop racing. There are a lot of distributors for rc these days man, Pitstop itself has some models of TT, Kyosho, HPI and some local chinese brands. If not, they can source it for you. And ofcourse, Modelart is the authorised dealer for TT. This apart, there is RCDhamaka, Myhobby store etc.

Gone are the days where one had to mix his own fuel, fabricate parts etc. Everything available off the shelf.

i need this for a offroad competetion. my budget is around 20k. which among these is better choice?

TT ST,
TT EB4-S2,
Kyosho DST.

Pls also suggest some other good cars...

Title: Re: RC car drifters/racers/off-roaders from Bangalore
Post by: mail4ajo on July 02, 2010, 10:55:25 AM

TT ST-1 is the best out of the mentioned ones. PERIOD. But it will above 20K. Next best choice is EB4 because its 1/8 compared to DST which is 1/10.

But I would say DST, because it will be easy for you to build. Very simple construction and design. I recently helped a student buy a used DST for college competitions.

GS racing SUT monster truck will also be easy to build because of the design. Spares are also available. You will get in that budget. PM me if interested.

I live in bangalore (indiranagar). got hooked to rc cars after I saw some vids on youtube a few days ago. I've always loved drifting and have since gone around looking for best drift rc cars on web. Still a newbie learning the basic things to look for in an rc car.

Got to this site searching for rc shops in bangalore. did find some, but sadly yet to find drift spec cars.  might buy from north20 later.

btw,  just subcribed to 'xtreme rc cars' mag through zinio. Could be another useful source of info besides the forums.

Interested in being to races (as a spectator for now). Will be great if this thread is updated with details of when such races happen.

thats cool. I've looked around the web for drift cars and they are priced at around $200 (+80 shipping to india, + customs tax,  + essential equipments ). or 20north has it at 10k. its easier for me to buy in $s or GBP since my money is in a UK account. And, I do have a few models shortlisted.
Anyway, will visit modelart sometime this week and see what they've got.

Thanks
