Title: Thunder Tiger Sparrowhawk XXT : Any good?
Post by: Divyam on December 06, 2009, 07:59:34 AM
Thunder Tiger recently released a brushless version of their electric truggy, Sparrowhawk XT.....
I saw one at Modelart and it looked pretty good....
Comes with a 3 channel radio 2.4g and brushless motor and speed controller.....
Costs around 15k.....Seems pretty reasonable for a brushless 4x4 with a 3ch 2.4g radio....
Doesn't come with batt. though

Heres one for your reference, Won the 3rd place in the Bangalore race. Decent for the price I say. Held up to all the abuse.

Savage, ERevo, Summit, Slash, etc. Both 2 and 3 prizes were Sparrowhawks

Not really. Driving skill is the most important factor. XXT and E-Revo is brushless. Slash is just come with their 4x4 brushless version.

Revo as well is not meant for backflips, it has a wing mount towards the back thus its not meants for backflips surely,

Ttr's sparrowhawk XXt is nice, has tons of torque, decent speed, but not wheelyking or backflips,
i know only one  elctric that can do backflip and i m gonna buy it soon

If you put that Castle Creations 1/10 scale combo on like the Sidewinder 5700kv or the Mamba Max it will flip over backwards so fast you would want to slap your mamma!  you will need wheelie bars for it.  with the Sidewinder 5700 on mine with a 20t pinion half throttle is stock full throttle then you punch it and it lifts up off the ground and rockets forward.  make sure you get wide 2.8mm street tires for grip and watch out.  I got sooo excited I pee'd a little. So you don't think i'm an 8 year old with novice thoughts My career involves carrying an AR-15 rifle and a .45 handgun everyday

The guy in the video seems quite good with his XXT.I doubt if it is a member of RCI because he would have replied to the sparrowhawk XXT threads.

and jrd5853,could you post a video? Will the sidewinder setup kick the slash's(4x4) a**?I am guessing it will. What would you say about its durability?A guy on rctech told me that the XXT was not designed for the crashes it would take in offroading.

So it was ahead because of the crash at the starting or was the E revo brushed?

for winnind a race, most important thing is Race track experience, Vehicle handling(not speed/acc), drivers hand magic

It will be a bit before I can put a vid together because of my wife's fetish with recording our bedroom activities but as far as durability I wouldn't rate too high but in my desperate search for add-ons and upgrades I found a site (www.t-bone-racing.com) that has good bumpers and wheelie bars for the XXT. also found out you can use ASSOCIATED T4 factory team shocks and "VS" shock caps.  replacement parts are cheap but I hate down time.
