Slash 4x4 is a GREAT car.. Durable.. Fast.. Good Ground Clarence..
One of the best things is how easy it is to work on.. 4 screws and the rear diff. assembly (I think) is accessible and for the front, only 5 screws..
Another plus point is how many companies make upgrades.. Integy, RPM, etc..

However, one thing that are very annoying. The holes in the chassis...
When driving on dirt, small rocks and stuff gets into the chassis.. But, its an easy fix.. There is a driveshaft mod..

I have also read that the outdrives are pretty weak.. Not had any problems yet, but just buying spares and upgrade..

Overall, a great car with few minor problems.. EASILY fixable..

Well,here goes.

Slash 4x4
Pros:
1)For the performance it gives, good value for money.
2)The motor is REALLY good.Good power right out of the box.
3)Pretty tough car.Can take some serious abuse.(Has a few weak points but more on those later).
4)Very easy to work on.(Most of the times with proper tools). If you try to move the camber links around with your "L" wrenches,be ready to lose your fingers.Or you have to remove the entire front bumper. But other than that, its a very easy vehicle to work on.
5)Its got reasonably good handling. Can be made better by optional parts.
6)Good vehicle for beginners.
7)Really good RTR package.Comes with a reasonably good 2.4GHz system and a NiMH battery thats OK.
8)Its got a lot of support as well.

Cons:
1)Stock tires aren't that great.Only for tarmac.
2)A few inherent design flaws. One being the opening in the chassis where the driveshaft comes out.Prone to damage by pebbles and stuff.
3)One more is the sliding(and telescopic) half shafts.Dust gets on one end and binding can be seen.
4)The slipper bearing is said to be bad but never had that problem myself.
5)Some people have not had luck with their ESCs but motors are great.
6)The motor mount can give up under stress.(lots of it)

Solutions:
1)For the driveshaft problem, many solutions are present. One involves wrapping the point on the shaft where it exits the chassis with tape or shrink tubing to reduce the size of the hole. One more is to put an amuminium rod through it to act like a tunnel.
2)For the half shaft problem, simple dust boots can be bought or made.
3)For the slipper bearing problem, they can be replaced with bigger ones.
4)The motor mount problem can be solved with the King Headz or FLM motor mount.

Overall:
1)Sweet car to run.
2)Few necessary upgrades like tires, sway bars but after that, you will enjoy it.
3)Really good for beginners.
4)Small problems but most of them can be ironed out.
5)I would rate it at 9/10.

I have one but I have been completely honest with this review. If anyone has anything to say or ask me about it,please let me know. :)

From what i know the space under the chasis is for the case if u want to use some bigger spur of larger diameter

Probably. It is a different design. That is for the bulkhead.Across the whole chassis, there is a depression through which the driveshaft goes through.

Now thats  a real big description gandhar

Well,Divyam gave the more concise version.

Hell yeah! Track? Or some ground?

Ground preferably. There's some land near my place that's perfect for this. As big as a football field and no one to bother. Just hope the weather is right. The best part is that towards one end there is a basketball ground sized area of tarmac. Best of both worlds you think? ;)
