Dear all
i want to know if i could use any 4,6,8 ch remote with rc car or we need special 2 ch remote. (as the car can go forward and reverse with single channel) or can we calibrate throttle channel for doing forward and reverse in the car.

You can use a 6 channel rc system but i doubt as there will be no reverse
and even the 2-3 channel pistol grip radios look good and are meant specially for surface use

Now if the topic is about Radios. I too have a question.

Can we use 2.4Ghz Pistol ground radio on water crafts (Boats/Air boats) as well?

I have used 2.4GHz Systems for water crafts over fairly long distances without any problems at all.

You can use a 6ch radio for a surface RC but you'll have to install a spring in the elevator channel that you might want to use for throttle and the aileron channel that already has a spring for the steering. But it'll be hard since the radios aren't meant to be used on cars. If you plan on racing, reverse is banned so don't worry about that. you will have to set it up for braking though.

There are stick radios meant specifically for surface RCers and Masami Hirosaka, one of THE BEST RC racers uses one...

HYDRO PLANER.....

Friends, we can use any radio to any craft, surface or in air, and only one request to you all, that please avoid using a 2.4 GHz radio set to your submarines, because of the tendency of surface bouncing of a 2.4 GHz radio set. and it is not a problem to use a MHz radio sets to long range, but have to add a good external antenna to the crfaft..first of all determine the output power of the Tx in watts, or Decibel.so we can simply assume the final range of a radio set..but the distance will vary according to geographical planes..you can use any radio to any craft, may be Gun type, or stick type, all based on same principle, and can use a 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 channel, any mode, by changing the stick assembly to left and right..or can add a simple spring to the throttle channel..or can set the Tx as both controls with one stick, as the up and down movement controls the Fwd, Brake and rev, while the same stick controls the left and right..and for an experienced RC user there is no restrictions to sticks or knobs, or switches, and can connect any controls to any desired sticks, or switches, or variator knobs..for an example, i sometimes runs two boats with one Tx, yes as you all know, with two matching receivers, with a 6 channel Hobby king  or Fly sky radio, i use the two potentio meters placed on the top of the TX, as throttles..at centre, it stops, while turning it one side is Fwd, and other as rev..while, both main sticks are used for directional controls.. all RC Radio sets are simply a servo driver circuit, and feded to a wireless transmitting system, like an FM wire less mic. if so, you can connect a servo to any radio, to any channel, and if it is working in two directions, then it is sure, can use in any RC applications..may boat, car, aircraft..because if your radio is able to drive a servo..then all ESCs are based on same principle, of frequency expander..and altering the duty cycles..its all simple..so Friends... we can use any radio to any crafts..but make sure..that the receiver antenna is well placed to receive the signals from transmitter..may air or at surface..can also boost the reception, by adding some extra ordinary antennas, and a simple booster circuits based on 2SC 2055 or similar transistors..all works well..but with a 6 channel radio, we can use in various applications like, flower dropping in an aircraft, or smoke trails..and horn, wiper, siren, lights, smoke on aboat or ship..and horn , lights on a car..
basically all 2,4 5,6 , 9 or any channel radios are same, and only a particular signal is added to the transmitting unit, while a particular signal is applied, means a stick is moved..or a switch is pressed..so we can control a boat, or a car with same Tx and Rx, may be a pistol type..or a conventional type..a reverse function is controlled by the ESC, itself, used on a car or a boat.. Thumbs Up
