I just got some new batteries and plugged everything in, the steering is now locked to the left. Even after disconnecting everything, it seems like the servo's have just locked it up in that position (can't even manually turn it back)
I'm also not getting any drive in the motor *motor's are running but the car is not moving.
I tried binding the tx rx again and again but no use.  Huh? Huh?

For the motor issue, the pinion gear might be loose or stripped. Just open the gear cover and have a look.

I just did that, you are right. There's a gap between the gears. any ideas about the servo?

I'm not sure about the servo but try this, disconnect both the steering links and then try with your receiver, if it still does not budge then i think you have a blown servo.

I disconnected the servos, one of them goes to the left and gets stuck there when i power on, the other one is fine. if i manually move it back, it goes back to that position again when i power on

You sure the channels for the steering and throttle have not been accidentally swapped on the receiver?
Does changing the steering trim make any difference?

Before throwing the servo out, it might be worthwhile to dismantle the drivetrain in the servo to see if the servo motor still works. maybe that servo is just jammed on the end-post or something.

Contact Kapil Jolly of Dogbone Racing, he is the official distributor for Traxxas products in india. He might be able to help you out with the pinion gear.

I disconnected the servos so that they can turn freely when I switch it on, one of them seems to be working fine but the other one is slow and almost dead. it's also getting hot. it might be a problem with the servo.
Rather, it IS a problem with the left servo

It sounds like a problem with the servo. You can get a good servo and get rid of the dual servo setup. No matter how hard you try to synch their action, they will fight each other.

HiTech servo's are a bit out of budget at the moment. Do you know of any replacement servos I can get in Bangalore? The other option is to order another 2075 from towerhobbies Sad

In Bangalore? Hard to say but there might be a Sanwa servo that can do the job. Since you don't race, speed is not as important as torque is.

Anything in the 220- 250 oz.in range should suffice. What price range are you looking at for the servo?

I found these but I don't know what else i'll need to start driving. I'm told I need to program these servos

I would spend more on a good one if I know it's a one time investment (bashing only) but I don't know what other parts I need, I don't want to spend 6000 on a servo and realize it doesn't work with the revo because it doesn't fit or the voltage is not proper

Guess I'm down to one servo for now.

Get a savox 1256-tg. I bought mine from asiatees.com for 70$.
Check out the specs.
http://www.savoxusa.com/Savox_SC1256TG_Digital_Servo_p/savsc1256tg.htm
Check out this revo using the same servo,it has got sufficient speed and torque.

Did you have to modify the chassis to get it to fit? This guy has had to make some adjustments to get it to fit
Also, did you have to do any programming or did you just bold it on and start using it

I don't have an e-revo,i bought it for my MT4g3.Check out the forums about the modifications to be made, slight modifications won't matter much.
And about the bec, check the voltage output from ur esc.
220 oz-in@4.5v torque should be enough, but if you are in need of more speed and torque go for an external bec.

Ah okay, yeah that should be enough. I believe the stock built in BEC is set at 5 or 6V, I was worried it would be under-powered.
So should I go ahead an order it? Did you need to buy new servo horns or anything else?

U can even go for this servo, but enquire about the stock.

4000 bucks is a good price for that servo.

You will need a BEC as well. Castle ESCs have BECs incapable of supplying Savox servos. The 1256 should work well. An aluminium servo horn is always a good investment.

You'll need a Mod 1 pinion for the ERBE. It shouldn't be too hard to find around here.

The castle esc outputs at 6v. This is not optimum but it should still work. I'll get a bec later.  I ordered some 5mm pinions as well

It cannot hold the 6V output when the Savox servo draws current. Savox servos are known to draw excessive amount of power and Castle BECs are notorious for their low current rating.

The savox servo also has a 4.8 v draw. That's less than 2 stock servos. Are you saying it won't work at all or it won't perform optimally without the bec. The only place I can get a castle bec is from tower and that's going to take time to deliver.

It might work although the likelihood is low. Some have no problems running MMMs with Savox servos but many people have had problems with a combination of Savox and MMP.

The Rx does play a role here too but the main culprit is the internal BEC on the MMM.

An external BEC would be highly advised. If you haven't bought the BEC yet, just wait for the servo. Plug it in, see if it works well. If it does, continue. If it browns out, try a glitchbuster capacitor. At times, even that won't solve your problem. In that case, a BEC will certainly solve all problems.

A 'glitchbuster' capacitor is basically a capacitor that plugs into your Rx's spare channel and smooths out the voltage ripples caused in the power supply to the Rx. If you want more info on this, check this out.(This will be interesting if you're 'into' electronics. If not, the link will bore you. Grin)

A brown out is when the servo draws so much current that the Rx doesn't get enough current to keep running and restarts. Spektrum Rxes are most prone to brown outs as they have a higher operating voltage.

A brown out looks like this.( This is with a Mamba Max Pro, which has pretty much the same BEC as the MMM)

4.8V servos are very rare these days as most of them are ran at 5.75V or 6V.(There are HV servos which go up to 8.4V which are gaining popularity). At a lower voltage, the performance will be dismal.

Haha. If you don't mind soldering and a small visit to an LHS, you can make one on your own. If you do, just make sure you solder it with the right polarity and plug it in the right way.

No problems. You might need a new Traxxas connector(female).

I'm going to use the glitch buster initially and do the bec upgrade later. Another guy on the trqxxas forums said he's been running the 1256 on the revo without any add-ons so the bec might be kept as an emergency only Smiley

If you're lucky, you won't need a glitch buster. A glitch buster should solve most problems(if any).

The BEC will be a last resort.

got the new savox servo. works great but it's very noisy. had to spend some time meshing the gears so didn't get a chance to test the new servo outdoors. will check it out tomorrow. this might become my official e revo thread Tongue
