Filmed this a few years ago - lots have enjoyed it turn up the volume and enjoy the Rolls Royce Merlin sound, makes the hairs on the back of your neck stick-up!

Had pilots and ground crew who served and operated this aeroplane whilst in the services, get in touch and relay their stories.

The ironical bit is that early models of pre war Me 109's used a Rolls-Royce Kestrel VI engine and post war Me 109 (HA 112) had Merlin 500/45 engines on them.

Downloaded this video some time ago, one of my favourites. Wasn't aware that it was one of yours. Bloody beautifully done.

That classic theme is goosebumps all the way......................and the Merlin chomps in at the right times...................

Just a pity that the markings on the aircraft flying are not August 1940's era, it seems like a Mark V or so thereabouts.

Biggleswade wasn't quite easy to find. Tourism Dept didn't seem to have heard of it (1996).

I spent a week in London last summer.  Couldn't pass up the chance to visit the Royal Air Force Museum.

The closest that I've got to a pair of ill maintained  Spit and Hurri are here. The Spit is a Mk XIV and the Hurri is a Mk IIb or c.

Had to ignore the years of dust and cobwebs to sit inside the cockpits. Given another chance, would do it a 1000 times over. It's pity that there was no one there to photograph me in the cockpits. It was nearly 48 degrees C that day and I was the only visitor to the museum. I did see a dog at the entrance, but he wasn't impressed.

I did enjoy the visit. Was only in the museum about two hours but got hundreds of photos.
