@ mangesh, thank you for your information. But I am also paid customs duty. So now they are imposing duty on all mode of transit. So it would be better to use private carrier so that we atleast save the time.
@ tej, better you leave it to send back and get the refund. Sometimes customs destroy the parcel and no one can raise any question against them due to security issue. If you want it back buy it with the help of your institution. nairitb bro may  help you in this matter.

the custom guy said, earlier they had a information about the quads delivering pizzas and amazon stuff, so in fear that it can be used to attach bombs and blowup places. The commissioner of customs in 2013 came with the new rule that all flying toys no matter what the size need a wpc noc weather individual or for personal use!

Also mentioned the LHS selling this quads had submitted the  wpc nocs. If this was true then there's not even a single quad manufacturer name on the wpc library till date. I guess the LHS pays lot to release their items directly to customs but if they submit wpc noc and eta then it gets updated in wpc library and then an individual can buy directly without applying for eta. This might not be good for their business!

My friend had sent me 2 chinese tablet  10" as gift thorugh EMS and these are stuck at Mumbai customs. They had sent me a show cause. I went to them and explained that these are gift. But the clerk told that its market value will be no less that 12,00o INR in Indian market and hence, I need to pay about 41.91% tax + penalty which is coming to 11461 for each item i.e. nearly 100%. Now I am stuck as this is too high for me. As per my cusotms understadning, duty on these items under RS code 84713090/84713010 is 14%. But it is futile to argue with them.
So only option left for me is to use a customs broker to pull some string and get this done at reasonable cost.
Can anyone refer me a customs broker which can take up this type of cases for individuals? If any of you have contact in Mumbai, please PM me.

What is the custom marked value on the parcel! Never mark item as gift, if you have paid then tell them and show them the bank statement!

Before paying ask for the detailed receipt but you won't get it, they will tell you that the postman will give you while paying the duty but the postman will only show you, won't give it to you as 14% will be going to government and rest in that custom officer pocket! take a quick photo copy(mobile cam) of the 41% receipt from postman or best scan it

The customs on android tabs are 28% and windows is 14% as windows comes under computer
but you need the receipt number and file RTI online with the receipt no and tracking no, ask for detail about your 41% duty when 14% is the duty for tabs and ask about the penalty charged.

The market value in india doesn't matter, its the value you paid to the seller. so if its really a gift then no worries just pay the charges, take the receipt and file RTI!

If we file rti to know how many quads and txs custom released this year or month. And why they are not updated on WPC Library if they are released

As per the custom officer i talked, every LHS must have submitted if they are selling on site so if its true then not even a single RC manufacturer name on WPC ETA library. so its clear that its corruption and LHS's are paying or giving some percent to custom officer to release parcel and skipping the ETA approval part

Also with this there's no record in WPC library and so individual's can never import tx and quads freely and only other option is to buy from LHS or other ppl who has good connections with customs.

Filing rti might not change but atleast they will have fear of ppl questioning!

Bro, it will take time.. Mine was sent to customs on 24 Nov and next update was done on 08 December. Wait for 3-4 days..

Which phone have you ordered? What is the price? And yes you have to pay the duty, you most likely will get a call from customs about the same and as it will be delivered by post, you need to pay the amount to postman at the time of delivery.. I've ordered Xiaomi Mi4C and Price is $279. But I read on this forum that If you are using registered AirMail then there are 99% chances of not getting charged with duty.

Hehe.. thats totally depend on the customs' mood. Sometime a product worth 300 may not get charged with duty but sometimes product of 50 USD also get charged.. It depends on the custom. All the best! BTW, u r from Pune? Me too...

Actually I the above mentioned product is MI Wifi Mini router (1200 mbps)  which is with customs ATM. I have also placed order for Rock Mula Stereo Deep Bass Earphone Headset and it is shipped by some shitty flytexpress. Where I don't see any update from last 15 days.
 I have also placed an order yesterday for INFANTRY Aviator pilot Watch . I hope I'll get all the products.

TBH, I have had bought some things from international websites like ishopinternational, ebay but this my first experience on aliexpress.. So I m also a bit worried.. But dont worry.. my frnd's uncle is in Customs in Pune office.. I had a word with him.. He said due to diwali many ppl have ordered from out of india and because of that the load is quite more this time. So it is taking more time as compared normal days..
