Learning to Fly

folks,
Just wanted to share with you guys that I recently bought a Nikon D5000 dslr. Had been interested in photography and even had a film based slr, but for a long time I was wanting to go digital - simply because I can see the photos and do not have to wait for the film to develop....

My sister has this. Nice cam, but note that the FPS on video recording at full HD is low. But over all a really decent Value for money buy  Thumbs Up

Yup!! all these nomenclature on the body and lens numbers are indeed confusing. But wait there is more.. the crop factor, APS-C vs full frame sensor etc.... Its almost another black hole specially with lens's range of prices and feature

GREAT photos Ujjwaana!!!  Clap Clap Clap

Someday I will upload some of mine into this thread. I have been lucky to have a photograph selected for Nat Geo for display on their site. After RC/Scale modelling, photography is my second biggest passion.

Cheers!

Pankaj sir, yes, the Tigers and Snakes were shot Bannergatta, as I have rightly tagged the photos.

Vinay, mostly people buying entry level DSLRs buy the 'Stock/Kit' lens, which is indeed a good choice. The lens should be a 18-55mm or 18-70mm VR.

VC! Heyy great to know about your NatGeo triumph!! Ya, before R/C, Photography has been by costliest hobby till date. Nice to know you too are a shutter bug  Thumbs Up

I was just asking Pankaj what he had brought. Coz I am a no no for a stock lens guy Wink, If you remember what I asked my brother to buy.

Thanks for the appreciation Shrikant.
I myself don't remember - I inherited Electronics, HAM, Photography, Aeromodling (not R/C) from my Dad in my childhood and have been active in one or the other time to time. The only other hobby I picked myself became my profession - Computers.
Hope I would use my photography to cover Aero events in the future.

I request you for your feedback, especially from the seasoned veterans of photography here.

Regards.
