Seriously! Frivolous stuff happening around. I had a question.. Does this ban only extend to those doing FPV or flying quads/planes with Cameras or EVERY unmanned aerial vehicle?

And for the ones flying their quads while snacking on burgers, God help them!!!

Just seeing a multirotor fly people think of word 'drone' and this word conjures up fear! when will people understand its just a hobby! not everyone who flies drone is doing something antisocial! but who will educate the authorities? We should put up some kinda petition on change.org or somewhere and hope we, the hobbyist are heard. Need of the hour is responsible flying, but there will always be few who will flout the norms for few quick bucks and make others suffer as a consequence.

I dont think by signing a petition will help the DGCA to move & take steps to get this issue resolved, but how would such a ban help the Govt... I just simply don't understand.

@rcrcnitesh if it were a technical write up I could easily have but have no idea how to word/ draft a petition! If you can then please draft one and share on a new thread so everyone can give their inputs and make this petition a strong one.

Does UAV include RC planes and helicopters as well.
What about photographers and videographers who use these multi rotors so extensively to cover functions. Do they need special licenses.

i guess no planes , helis maybe (especially those with fpv/cameras)
I think they shouldnt put a ban on non camera quads/multirotors
cause its true as you said many people depend on this for their daily earning
License i guess is now necessary for  this
damn the guy from housing.com, he got us all in trouble

Need more inputs from friends around...

@ Darshan : Are u saying that RC Planes will stay banned and only Multirotors used for filming and FPV may be allowed or the other way around?

Also the idea of the Petition is brilliant and a request to anyone who can lead us with the same so that things can start looking forward. From what i read and hear in the news, it seems very convenient for the government to continue the ban so that they can generate more revenue by introducing licenses which will unnecessary burden all of us enthusiasts, not to mention the corruption in our country.

REQUEST TO THE ADMIN TO KINDLY MAKE THIS A STICKY SO WE CAN HAVE MORE VIEWS AND INPUTS

(Apologize for the use of all caps above.. Just wanted to get that line noticed)

Thanks

Drone acharya I mean the other way round
Currently multirotors are completely banned (well if not completely mostly the aerial photography one as they have caused a lot if trouble now a days)
People should understand that it's just a hobby and it shouldn't be used to exploit or threaten or take away somebody's peace
I hop the DGCA will soon lift this ban and we can fly again

I am sorry if this sounds harsh but I am looking at it from a neutral point-

This ban can prove to be a good step in anti-social acts, however, Licence should be granted to the people who are not anti-social. Parameters can b set so that license can b issued based on that.

think of a situation when a guy sitting on a boat on the ocean drops bombs on the city's specific location using a heli/quad and a cam. this aint v unlikely imo with the knowledge I have. Please dont forget the the anti social people's ideas are far destructive than aam janta's constructive ideas and they got good Intel too.

So, the final verdict is "U can put a ban only if u can issue license for the aam janta who r not a threat to the society".

I guess, letting people drive cars is far more dangerous than that, given the last terrorism incedent that happened in Mumbai.
They should ban cars !

Indian Revolution - 100% Pure 100% Hygienic

Great job dear Hanzroh!
This is so cute! Would love to see it fly!

If you show this to DGCA or similar authorities, they will just say 'BANNED', that too without any reason, just banned.
They will say your plane is potential threat to Nation blah blah blah......

Anyway, great efforts pal! Hats Off

Why not start a new thread in the electric planes section here and we can all chip in with our thoughts. That twin boom looks like a really good build! Would like to see and read more about it. Good job! Thumbs Up

Well we do have a few Organisation available to us called the Aeromodellers Association of India and Wings India.  Both are owned and operated by respected and reputed people.....  I guess it is time for them to step in and get the things opened up for the well meaning Aeromodellers in India.  A few of the important links of the association and similar associations are given here:-
http://www.amai.in/
http://www.amai.in/whyama.php
http://www.amai.in/india.php
http://www.rcindia.org/rc-locations-and-clubs/recognition-of-aero-modellers-association-of-india-%28n-delhi%29-by-aci/
http://www.iacvirar.com/
http://aerosports.co.in/aeromodelling
http://www.wingindia.com/
https://www.facebook.com/chdaero

An important link about clubs.... http://www.rc-airplane-world.com/india-rc-airplane-clubs.html

Guess these bigwings are the solution and they should step in now.  We know many of these people and some of them are members here.  Members who are associated with these organisations please Stand Up and take charge of the incorrect perception of the hobby and get all the well meaning people here to join into a group or some of the regional group to safeguard interests and follow the rules and guidelines strictly.

Guess thats the only future of this Hobby.

The AMA is affiliated to the Aero Club of India..... which was once upon a time patronised by Mr Sanjay Gandhi.  The Aero Club of India does hold a lot of clout in the power circles of India.

That might be true but i don't see their inputs. i believe we lost chance to save this hobby and it's slipped from our hands since readymade brands jumped into the market. One brand is held responsible for all these. i saw many news and videos and i always see one name that i don't want to post here. We have to stop relying on readymade brands to fulfill our dreams in short time else there is no future for this wonderful and knowledgeable hobby.

Well.... greed and easy money availability of people.... coupled with a lazy attitude of buying ready to fly models...... and there are a host of others here on thei forum who think that they can make the best UAV or whatever they wish call them.... in actual case they can not even get an aeroplane model in the air.... the have also brought in a bad name...

Lets all try and ask these organisations to take the case and make the Guidelines for same conduct of the hobby.. people not adhering to the guidelines can be taken to task by the law.
