Title: building a cheap mini quadcopter Post by: abhinavbhopal26 on July 28, 2016, 01:40:17 PM i want to make a mini quadcopter. i did my research and have found everything i need, but its too costly for me still. i want to make it just for the fun and i dont know if i can continue in this rc field in the future. so i dont want to buy those costly parts and then let them go to waste, so i thought of buying spare parts of RTF mini quadcopters like hubsan x4 or eachine racer 250 etc. i have thought of buying the receiver board and the remote control from banggood.com. this helps me save some cash.
i just want to know from you guys if this is a wise decision. because i hv read posts of people's shipments being held at the customs, thus wasting their ,money and time. i cant afford that. so please help me and give suggestions as to what i should do. Buying from outside the country means a lot of waiting time, and in some cases extra money if it gets stuck at customs. But the cost is definitely lower than local shops and you usually get stuff within 60 days of ordering. If you have the money, I would suggest buying from a local shop, which shouldnt be a hassle for you as you already know what to buy. You can ask your shop to source items which they dont have in stock. Look at buying an ARF (almost ready to fly) or PNF (plug and fly) kit, you should still be able to customize each part in it in future if you're more serious about the hobby.
