Even if we didn't land, that doesn't mean we failed. Mission was very much successful as orbiter will be orbiting for an year, gathering information for us and the world. Although watching those last minutes at ISRO center on TV was really heartbreaking. But we also saw India reuniting and people full of support and proud feeling. Kudos to our lovely PM for his extra inspiring speech. People are full of hope.

Sadly, even now there is no news of lander's whereabouts.
There is a small probability of its safe landing though.

I was thinking if there is any foolproof way for landing on any planets surface?
Can't we remote control the maneuverability of the lander directly from earth?
Why did they select south of the moon for landing?
How about sending 2 landers on different parts of moon. Is that practicality possible?
Can the site be viewed with a dobsonian telescope?

Praying for lander's safe landing where pragyaan could mark its footprint forever. And even if it couldn't, ISRO would learn from its mistakes and loopholes for future missions.

I can say one thing.  Remote control of  Maneuverability : We cannot control it directly ,  its so far out that it takes seconds for cause and effect .  There is too much Latency to allow such control .  Say we communicate at the speed of Light with a moon lander , it takes 1.3 seconds.  So if we try a FPV style control we see any picture after 1.3 seconds, we as humans have average reaction time of 0.25 seconds , time for the response signal to get back to the moon lander is another 1.3 seconds . Say we have a perfect lander with 0 latency response . Then the total time is 1.3+0.25+1.3 = 2.85 seconds.  In that time the moon lander would do anything but what we want it to do .
