Hello People,
Have you got any hands on experience with iPhone 4?
I am asking, just to get some review from forum members.
Though I am aware of the reception issue...but still iPhone is iPhone...
So, What you have to say guys, good or bad whatever?

RC India - Flying and racing with open minds !

Been using one for a week or so now.  Didn't encounter the "grip of death" issue, as it is in a case.  I did see that the proximity sensor does not work as well as the earlier phones, whereby I got the call on speakerphone inadvertently couple of times.

Overall pleased with the phone, especially the speed and camera stuff.

Available in UAE/Dubai and Qatar.  Both are factory unlocked I believe (the Qatar one sure is!).

I saw it for sale at the Garuda Mall in Bangalore, but was outrageously expensive even for an iPhone !

I read multiple reports recently that the back glass of iPhone 4 is particularly vulnerable to drops even from waist heights (as compared to the earlier 3G and 3Gs models).

Although it is a very nice phone, it may not be a bad idea to wait around till a newer version comes out in early 2011 (and probably get a used 3Gs for cheap for immediate use).

Or get a cheaper iPod touch 4th gen and a nice touch phone separately.. No issues that way.. Except the iPod's camera is a little worse but not by a lot..

Personal opinion.. I don't mind carrying 2 or even more gadgets.. As long as everything is specialized in whatever their task... That's why people probably buy a good camera and a phone separately.. Good camera phone is WAY more expensive than if bought separately..

ya..I agree that...

Read this article http://www.squaretrade.com/pages/iphone4-glass-study

Their conclusion is like follows...

Quote
Despite this troubling increase, it's important to take the accident rate into perspective. Overall, the iPhone is still a very well constructed device, with a non-accident malfunction rate much lower than most other consumer electronics.

In SquareTrade's previous study comparing smart phone reliability from November 2008, we found iPhones to be far more reliable than Blackberrys and Palm Treos. We will be updating this report soon, and we'll have data on the latest Android phone models. It may yet be seen that even with the double glass, the iPhone has an overall failure rate that is still better than the competition.

now, if other mobiles are more prone to non-accident malfunctions then there is no point for comparison. Giggle
till now, I personally this malfunctions with nokia smartphones...here and there it crashes..and I am losing my data as well as contacts once in a month or two. Symbian^1 is really bad OS in this case. Bang Head

Like I said, it is a good phone, no doubt.  But when you are spending so much, the 6 month wait may be worth it (unless you are in the habit of changing gadgets often).

I can vouch for the sync performance and reliability of the iPhone (against both PC/Windows and Mac/OSX).
