Title: Damned Spammers. What a shame!
Post by: VC on April 24, 2012, 11:33:38 PM
Happened to visit a related forum from India a short while ago and was shocked to see the board. There should be a law against these spammers. I am not a member of this respectable forum, however, I can well understand the frustration of the Moderator / Administrator if he has to absorb this kind of junk in order to serve our beautiful hobby.

This post is not to denigrate or belittle any entity, it is just a caution to all concerned.

Shame! :banghead:

Indeed its a herculean task to deal with spam and spammers as they are always 1 step ahead from any anti-spam mechanism. We have example of olx site, in less than 6 months that site now looks like a truck load of spam...

:hatsoff: to mods for keeping this forum spam free.

ZERO Tolerance  towards spam and:
Delete ALL post
BAN/Delete  the user
BAN IP for 5 days.

unless there is a inclination to maintain the 'Membership' count.

The report on Zee (one of the crappiest news channel) is completely misleading and misses an important element. Its not that 'Indian' are spamming the most. Its only that the poor Indian computer have been so hugely 'Compromised' to mostly US/BR/ and Russian spammers who use such computers to Spam mails.

The actual reason is that still in India 80% of home users and as large as 50%-60% of corporate users are using Pirated OS or other applications which usually comes with Backdoor/Malware. They even use pirated Antivirus, which are always infected. Russian/Central EU underworld control large number of 'Botnet' comprising of Indian computers, which they sell to willing spammer for as less as cent 10 per dozen of computers.

So keep away from Pirated software, at least the OS and Antivirus should be genuine. I am saying this because I have worked and working for one of the biggest of such software companies myself and know the pitfalas

Mods cant delete posts or block members. Only admin can.
What I usually do is to merge such posts so they don’t occupy the whole home page.
In this case, I merged a few, then found there are too many.
Hence requested admin to block this poster and delete all his posts.
I’m sure Admin will do the needful shortly.
