They are just happy and glad banning and blocking legitimate usage and genuine requirements. How is it that all the advisory and regulations effectively going to stop the determined criminal from using it for the illegal usage. So how many would have been delivered before the one unlucky crash.

First legal sanctioned commercial usage of drone for aerial filming in San francesco had cost the company 200000$ in various fees and permits. While the buggers who were supposed to do thier designated job busy in enforcing embargo and collecting fees, criminals are using it free of cost to deliver drugs.  :argue: :argue:  :giggle:  :giggle:

Main reason why our hobby is going towards an unknown end trail!

I feel that DJI is an incredibly important company for our hobby. Sometimes for good reasons (read the killer technology that they almost single-handedly made mainstream) but mostly for the worst (for us serious RC hobbyists at least). DJI has dumbed RC Flying down enough for anyone to get into it. Its sometimes good and mostly bad from what I can understand. What I mean is, when DJI wasn't the phenomenon it is today, beginners would try and learn RC from other experienced pilots/drivers/sailors, etc. Along with the technical knowledge, these experienced guys would also lay down some very logical and well thought out ground rules (don't fly around airports, people, etc. amongst other great advice). Now that DJI has made RC so accessible (forgetting the money part of it since there's tons of extra income lying around these days), people think "anybody" can fly and do whatever they want with it. People now don't feel the need to reach out to experienced pilots/drivers/sailors and miss out on the etiquettes and the required safety rules.

I feel that bodies like the AMA and corresponding counterparts in other countries should play a bigger role in establishing ground rules/permissions/etc. Like issuing licences for RC flying may be. Of course no AMA could be successful unless the govt. authorities (like the FAA in the US) play the balancing game properly (they shouldn't use such an arrangement to twist the arms of hobbyists). With technology making RC both cheap and accessible, such issues are only going to get bigger. I have no idea what the future hold for this hobby. On news like this, it looks really bad. But there's so much that could be achieved (so much good can be achieved that I feel my efforts to list them won't be enough at all). I hope a few suckers don't f*** this  up for all of us.

Damn sure!! I just hope DJI can stop marketing their products as brain-dead gadgets.. RC needs to be more than that.. Otherwise, it just might go out of control..

DJI is just like toy for many because its just PNF no need for technical assistance ,,,i felt it because one guy who is a professional videographer in my area had a chit chat with me while i was flying and he felt that i was flying a toy(i was flying my scratch build RC plane) and he explained me about the quad like he is a an expert(he is using a DJI phantom) and when i started about the technical issued he was wondering i was PK....what i could say,,,AND HE IS ONE OF MY COUSIN BROTHER...

That's exactly the issue I was talking about.. I ran into an idiot (not exactly ran into him since I just saw his Phantom) flying about 20 feet over the Delhi-Gurgaon highway with full-on traffic.. It's too damn scary with these DJI guys being around unresponsibly.. These are exactly the guys who end up in the news while none of our "safe" flights are ever mentioned..

We should make it a rule to call the cops on these bloody idiots.. I had a "pro" photographer in my neighbourhood running me thru his quad setup.. Has a 600 sized carbon-fibre quad (with auto retracts and all) but seemingly oblivious to the fact that his antennas were wrapped around the carbon-fibre frame. Now as far as I know that is a strict "no-no" since carbon fibre is conductive when it comes to RF signals.. He googled it in front of me and still wasn't sure.. BTW he did mention that his 5000mAH battery cost 35000/- Rs..

I don't know how to respond to that.. I'm no expert but I'm no fool either.. Seems like RC flying is now a fashion statement as well.

"Seems like RC flying is now a fashion statement as well."

That has been prevalent for the last three decades. Wake up.
