Title: Drone spotted over Indian Parliament
Post by: globalmilind on October 17, 2015, 11:06:09 PM
News- 'In a major security breach at Lutyens zone in New Delhi area, a foreign national was seen flying a drone near Vijay Chowk on Saturday. According to the initial reports, the drone was seen flying over North and South Block by people present here, which is also a no-flying zone due to security reason.'

Guys this shouldn't happen. Especially a fortnight before MHA set to issue guidelines for drone. Bad, very bad.

OMG !!! Some people are stupid. Apparently he was a person from Russian embassy and came in a car with embassy related registration number. The drone appears to be a DJI with a camera. May be quite innocuous but he'd create problems for us by choosing a sensitive location.

By the way, is it confirmed that MHA is set to issue guidelines on drones within a fortnight? And why MHA? Isn't DGCA supposed to do the job? My letter written to MHA on security aspects was forwarded to DGCA.

Much ado over nothing. A foreign embassy guy was getting some photos from a son with his drone. One may click photos here from the ground and he was getting it from maybe 25 feet above. What kind of security risk could that pose? And he took it down when told about it. But the media and the police is acting like if all hell has broken loose.

Look at it pragmatically. If a terrorist really wants to plan something sinister, does he really require a drone? Everything can be seen using Google Earth and there is no bar on clicking photos or taking videos on the ground. One can also use hidden cams to film even in restricted areas. Does anyone need to fly a drone and risk exposing himself? This is nothing but a knee-jerk reaction.

Hundred of terror attacks have taken place even though guns and assault rifles are banned in India. And people are acting like drones are the biggest threat ever to Indian security.

It is not done here only in India.
We need to look at the bigger picture. This is a part of a Global Agenda.
Suddenly we see that  Internationally the hype is being created in the last 3 to 4 years.

And how can we stay back.... recently we see so many bans!

How funny it is to see people claiming it as a 'major security lapse'

Retards are helpless when it comes to firearms and other deadly weapons are smuggled, police is clueless in controlling communal violence, rapes, assault etc.

They are dumb, and will remain dumb forever.

I tell you what- terrorism is just not possible through RC flying.

Our country is good in killing talents.

Half knowledge is very dangerous- and our administrative body is a perfect example of dented database.

How scared this TV guy is when he approached the Russian.

He is like:
"hm so u can see aaL the vidiooz her hain?"

"so haaoow match (much) haaiet (height) iT cain goo?"

"no 'witch' (which) 'contrary' (country) are yoou fram"

"the prablam is...ki...this is the palace (place)..the most high security place"

What an insult to our Nation.

I'm kinda amused by the whole hype around this thing. Kudos to our country for not understanding the limitations of technology. I remember going to Khadakwasla Dam in Pune this weekend and was trying to take some photos and was stopped by local police. I just told them.. Boss everything is available on Google Maps... why would I care to canvas something so openly if I was a terrorist. Meh!

It is an Irony that Corrupt to the Core Cops are harassing hobbyist and then Cops in Gujarat, Mumbai etc are using services of Moron "Wedding Videographers" for Arial Surveillance using same drones.

We are just not "Banana Republic" but "Happily" ruled by people who are "Putting Banana into Republic".

PS: For all reasons, it looks like India TV and Doordarshan is the "New" State TV Channel. Bunch of bloody morons who run 30 min episode on Aliens Drinking Cow Milk

Unfortunately a few recent incidents have made things difficult for us

1. Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha speaking about drones as a threat to the security of the nation. Which means Air Force has raised the red-flag in their meeting with DGCA. Expect the same from DGCA.
2. The incident of a Russian flying a drone near parliament
3. The news that in USA the FAA is going to make registration of drones mandatory with their transport department. Now people in DGCA in India will think that "If a country like USA does this thing then we should do even more....".

Imagine going to the motor vehicles department in India to register your UAVs ! Then they will require police clearance. Police will visit your home for verification or call you to the police station and demand hefty sum. On top of that you'd have to pay money and licence fee and maybe tax to the motor vehicles department. Maybe they will test whether you can fly too. At the end of the day, for a 15K drone you'd end up paying more than the cost of the drone to them. Image taking all the trouble for your custom made drone or a toy one like Syma X5C !

On a serious note...the more the delay in formulating the DGCA rules, the more stringent will it be because these kind of incidents and negative publicity will continue.

all these thoughts should be sent to DGCA for them to understand the hobbyists feelings in regards with such events

It won't happen. Hobbyists won't get time for politics.
