you can use this type of gun to launch your R/c planes you can make one yourself . the working principle is depicted in the image below http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Coilgun_animation.gif Title: Re: Electromagnetic rail gun launches fighter jet Post by: sandeepm on December 23, 2010, 05:59:59 PM interesting thing...but sudden thrust may break away certain part or R/C model.............controlled thrust if possible in this can be used to launch the craft.
What Say experts.......? Title: Re: Electromagnetic rail gun launches fighter jet Post by: ujjwaana on December 23, 2010, 09:16:11 PM I think the 'Rail Gun' as described in the book "Concepts of Physics by Resnick - Halliday" was much different where it was meant for accelerating projectiles to almost speed of light (Super-Hypersonic) - Like the one showed in movie Transformer part II (around the end).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Railgun These two examples may not be purely the classic examples of Rail Guns. Never the less, its nice to see such development happening lately. Title: Re: Electromagnetic rail gun launches fighter jet Post by: anwar on December 26, 2010, 12:25:32 PM Disney :o
