Hi everyone! I just blew my ESC by just connecting the battery to it in the reverse order.
The ESC was 'Emax 30A BLheli with BEC' .
I opened the case and came to know that the reverse polarity protection diode(honestly I don't what that is) had fried. No injuries Tongue on the main ICs were observed.
The yellow colored IC was blown.

Now,my question is , will it help if I change that yellow IC and it's neighbor? If so,please mention it's name so that I could buy it.

Thanks for helping Smiley

Retreat, Hell!

I'd recommend buying another one. Repairing an ESC is risky business.

Just throw that away?? That would be a lot of wastage of resources man! I can solder pretty much decently.

If only the protection diode is blown, then you can short circuit it. THE ESC will work fine.

That's not a diode, it a 'tantalum capacitor' however, the value cannot be known. In most cases regulator or other IC might have been burnt.

You mean to say, just unsolder it off the board and put a wire on it?You might also see it's neighbor suffer the same fate.

Ok. Not a problem. You may test it again if capacitor is the only component damaged. It can work without the cap, you can add it later if the esc is working.

Just unsolder. Don't put a wire junction to it! The main IC will blow. The two ends of the component are of different polarity.
Can't identify any other component burnt beside that one. Maybe a higher resolution  pic will help.

Now whos next??

You can desolder everything (Fets, IC, Caps, Diodes) and buy a new one of the same make.
In case you blow a fet on the new one, just replace it with a fet on the old one (that way you wouldnt be destroying resources).

Hello Aravind,

The pic shows that PCB tracks also might have blown..... As all are suggesting buy a new one. Its not that you cannot repair ESC but the problem is reverse polarity is a killing mistake & you cannot ascertain what all can go wrong.

On the other side I had a faulty Motor because of which 2 of my ESCs have MOSFETs blown. I ordered CED85A3/CEU85A3 Mosfet but they were of bad quality ... the ESCs worked but on full throttle one Mosfet blew off.

Question : where to get CED85A3/CEU85A3 mosfets?
