Post by: VIPIN_KUMAR on January 13, 2018, 12:32:05 AM Yes anyone (indian/foreigner) coming to India can bring lipos with them. They can carry only 2 lipos greater than 100 WH each. There is no restriction on no. of lipos less than 100 WH. The lipos are required to be carried only in hand baggage/cabin baggage and not in checked in baggage.
Lipos are classified as Hazardous material. I would further request you friend to carry the attached guideline issued by IATA for air transport. To boost your confidence-I got 5 of them last year through friends coming from US. 2 Nos. 3s 2200 mah 25c, 1 no. 4s 5200 mah 15c-30c, 1 no. 3s 3000mah 15c-30c, 1 no. 3s 1550 mah 25c. Your friend may be asked what is this. They can simply say that these are Lipo batteries. If further questioned, he can show the IATA guidelines. But that moment will not come as the checking people are aware that passengers transport these batteries in hand baggage. But ask your friend NOT TO PUT THE LIPOS IN CHECKED BAGGAGE.
