Title: Frauded!....please help!......devastated totally!
Post by: Partha Dubey on April 11, 2017, 05:25:12 PM
Hello all RCIndia members......
A couple of weeks ago I and Mr. Prashanthpal had purchased the following- http://www.rcindia.org/for-sale/6-channel-rc-transmitter-and-receiver-for-sale/   and the seller had confirmed. So we had paid him 2500 including shipping. After that he gave excuses that his exams were there so I didnot bother him that much. Fast forward to today....the package hasn't reached and he is also not picking up our phones, mostly turning our lines to busy. I had never imagined such a fraud to occur on a reputed forum as RCIndia. I request the responsible members and moderators to take strict actions against such a fraud in the RC community!  :'( His contact details can be found in the above thread link...any help from people staying close to him is highly appreciated.

While you have my entire sympathy, and my sincere good wishes that your issue gets sorted out amicably soon, where does this come from:

I had never imagined such a fraud to occur on a reputed forum as RCIndia

Really, has RC India been responsible for the fraud? There are certain guidelines for purchase, I trust you would have gone through them

See this:  http://www.rcindia.org/for-sale/guidelines-for-classifieds/

from which I would like to quote:

8.  Note that any transaction using the forum is ultimately between two individuals, and the RC India forum or its members have no responsibility over such transactions.  The seller is urged to describe the article and the condition of the article in as much details as possible, with pictures and videos if possible.  The buyer is urged to confirm the condition of the item, and any questions and clarifications should be made directly with the seller prior to purchase.  Finally use the trader rating system to leave feedback, so that a history be built for each buyer/seller.

Nonetheless, I do personally urge any member from that area, or who knows the seller, to please help Mr. Dubey to the maximum

I am sorry man if you got my vibe wrong. By saying so I meant that most of the people at this forum are genuine hobbists as I try to be one and getting such a fraud is an overwhelming(in a bad way ) experience for me. I would like to be clear that my statement was never guided to put the forum at a wrong point. Am sorry for any hurt feeling and any modification suggestions on the my post are sincerely welcome.  :salute:

@sanjayrai55 , sir I had confirmed the seller identity as a student in VIT in whose faculty a friend of mine Mr. Prashanthpal Reddy has a relative. The purchase was done only after several calls and whatsapp messages and images of the products. A minute ago, a message on whatsapp came from the brother of the seller stating a consignment number on speedpost which is not returning any details of the consignment whatsoever. Anyways thank you so much to you all for paying attention to my cause.

Well, that is positive: SpeedPost can get delayed, or the address might have had a typo. All the best

The most interesting part of the deal just got discovered!.....seconds ago I received whatsapp stating that I souldnot call him a fraudster. When I opened his images on whatsapp the tracking coupon dated 11/04/2017!  :giggle: How stupid is that I ask?.....No answers to calls, payments transferred long back, no replies on whatsapp whatsoever and then I get a message from him stating that he shouldnot be termed a fraudster!? as he shipped today.....I think I am not the one to be blamed for this......I request people to correct me if I am wrong in this one.....anyways it was really nice to see the unity among the members of rcindia!I feel truly honoured to be a member of the forum;   :hatsoff: .......thank you so much.....hope I receive them soon....and maybe its time to introduce a new secure payment system on the forum, I'll so some research on that and be back......

@partha dubey,
Glad that your package has been despached at last...

There is something called 'caveat emptor'

Had you known this, you would have noticed that:
1. The seller joined the forum only 2 weeks ago. Hence no track record.
2. Posted only 9 posts, all relating to selling something
3. May perhaps not even be a hobbyist, maybe just someone trying to hawk some RC stuff
4. His statement of 'range 4 km' should have put you on guard

On the other hand, he may be a genuine guy who was unable to despatch in time due to some genuine reason. If so, he should clarify his position publicly on the forum.

Hopefully all will end well. But you'll know only after testing your purchase...

Finally, a small joke to lighten the mood. Hope you don't mind:

You can't be frauded.
You can only be defrauded!

Regards

Oh dudeee..what?? Was it that post of 4kmrange on rcb61??   >:( ;D
I kinda felt it was ridiculous for someone to say that but thought it must have been a typo..
Before buying please check previous posts of that member. And maybe ask them to send a pic of Id card...and in the end toh bank account details toh hai hi....kaha jayega koi bhaag ke??.
Good to know he dispatched it. I would have been equally concerned if the seller wasn't responding after getting payment.  👍

I have been not well about couple weeks......weather changes probably......thought not updating would have been better for your reputation @seller .....still if you urge so.....the package arrived around five days after shipped.......the packaging wasn't probably upto to the speedpost endurance mark  :giggle: so the throttle stick was sunk into....it had broken a hinge........fixed and tested.....it worked with a replacement.....and somehow gave it to my frnd.......all in all it was the most frustrating deal I had encountered till date......almost a week delay in shipment, no response for days over call or wp, public forum outcry to bring attention to the issues, strong words from the person at fault.....lesson learnt: DONOT PURCHASE FROM A PERSON JOINED MERE COUPLE OF MONTHS AND WHO SAYS 4KM RANGE!  ;)

It would be very genuine if you if you'd care to post a pic of the same instead of bragging non stop.
And there's no way the throttle stick could be damaged as even air bubble packing was provieded apart from the rigid cardboard box

I would have surely posted had I not been ill......please understand that nothing rigid of the box was remaining as it reached me.......but yes a few layers of bubble wrap was surely present.......well that wasn't your fault.....its the circumstances of speed post.....and by the way would you like to clear as to why you were not responding to mine and Mr Reddy's calls and whatsapp message ofr a few days....and the very evening I had posted publicly on rcindia that you took care......was there anything that I did wrong by raising alarm after you were cancelling several calls post complete payment?
