I have a friend who's agreed to get one of these two models and am wanting to know if customs will stop him and confiscate the items or will he have to pay tax and will be let go? Both drones are of different categories, one is Nano and one is Micro, would the micro be scrutinized more? Need views, ideas or suggestions. All depends on which Airport he will be landing at. As customs official there will be responsible for the checks. Also the timing of flight is also important. I would suggest that he gets it in loose mode. that is tell him to spread the mavic parts in the baggage that will be checked in. Do not get the mavic with the original box. That way he can report it as personal item and for personal use incase if asked. Nowadays it is a bit risky. Also be prepared to pay duties incase they are ready to let go.
