also, if the transaction is realy for big amts, like 10k> , some insured policies like a post dated cheque can be given by the seller against the amount he receives , so that the buyer wont feel that helpless....
That would be an additional complication ! So many things can go wrong with that idea.
It is basically very simple, and none of this is needed. The only thing needed is over communication !
In this case, the seller seemed to promise that the item is packed and ready to go, and would get shipped out "as soon as" the money is received. Now "as soon as" to the buyer is "the next day". To the seller, "as soon as" seemed to mean "within a week when he could go out to the courier company which is far away" ! So what went wrong here ? The seller never really communicated to the buyer the details of his shipping plan properly, before or during the sale. That is the root cause of why this thread came up.
Remember that there are many many other transactions happening here, without any issues. It is all about communication.
