Today is Makar Sankranti and is celebrated in India in many different ways. For example, in Assam, this day is celebrated as "Uruka". The entire family gathers around a camp fire and roasts various food items ranging from potatoes to fish and meat. It (Uruka) ushers in Maagh / Bhogali Bihu. A time for feasting and merriment.

In Gujarat it it celebrated as the "International Kite Flying Day". I may not be able to fly a kite today (due to professional commitments), but I will definitely do so tomorrow the 16th of Jan 2011. I had bought many kites but never had the chance to fly them.

I am not weird...Instead i am a bit different....
happy makar sakranti to evryone......I also would not be able to fly my kites again this year because of my exams Sad Sad Sad  and also my mom doesn't like me flying kites. Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry..........though im a big kite addict, frolic and a maniac since 7 years  >Cheesy Giggle Giggle Giggle Grin.........
