Title: Help with 'Block Reference' in AutoCAD/TurboCAD
Post by: ujjwaana on November 18, 2010, 01:13:34 PM

I am working on an old plan called 'AMP Master 015'. There is no build thread for this plan I could find, which is a set of 3 DWG files. All the text/annotation in the design is in Italian and I need to translate then in English. I am very new to CAD and got trial version of TurboCAD/AutoCAD. All I could understand is that these text are mainly 'Block Reference', text of which I am unable to copy/paste so that I can put them in Google Translate/BableFish.

URL for DWG File:
http://www.svensons.com/airplanes/?f.../AMP_015-2.dwg (Right click --> Save as <foo.dwg>)

Say I want to copy - replace the text starting with "Questo aereo dovrebbe..." in the the Right-Middle section of the drawing.

Could any CAD guru help me how to do that? I am finding myself totally retarded having failed to do so for the past 2 nights

Try the 'explode' command i.e. type 'x' followed by enter and you will be able to copy. If it didn't work, try 'ate' command since the block may have attributes.

Thanks Anta and Laxman. It worked. Translating a DXF/DWG file from Italian to English is tiring and frustrating. Hope to finish tonight. None of translation site could translate the word 'Tiglio' !!!
