Title: How is/was Marilyn Monroe connected with RC aircrafts??
Post by: flyingboxcar on June 10, 2011, 08:41:14 PM
Did you know that both have a very strong bond?? If not for RC aircraft Norma Jeane would never have become Marilyn Monroe.
Check out this wiki link under 'Army Purchase' and the picture on right side of the famed lady holding a large prop.
Love the firm grip on that prop  :goodjob: ;D

She started her working life mounting props and spraying paint (fire retardant) on aircraft parts and later inspecting parachutes. A reporter cameraman was sent to the factory to get photos of pretty young girls doing their bit for the war effort and Norman Jean was picked because of her curly hair. She wasn't blonde until she became famous. What really launched her fame was a series of adverts for Airlines but where Radio control came into it I haven't a clue.

Hang on, my wife said something about flying an RC aircraft across the North pole.?????? I missed that story.
