Is turnigy 9x a great tx...??
Is it compatible with planes as well as quads??

Go for the Flysky/Turnigy i6 and flash a 10 channel firmware like Open TX plus it's slightly newer, and mod friendly overall

As for your question about compatibility, these are Universal Transmitters, so they'll work on planes and quads as long as they have enough channels
