Has anyone on this forum been able to import drone or any other rc controlled device via India direct mail shipping on BangGood ?
Or otherwise?

Dude, Actually I have the same question. I'm planning to buy Mi Drone 4k with India Direct Mail (which is GATI)..for GATI some of the times customs duty is NOT applied on even with shipments of 3-4KG. The issue here is not about duty but confiscating the shipment if it is found to be drone.

BTW, Did you got your drone in case if you have already ordered?

I've imported a lot of products from banggood and always use India direct mail (GATI) because it is fast.Probably the fastest ,normally I get my products with in 10 days.Even though the prices are bit higher then Aliexpress and ebay the service and shipping speed is good so I wouldn't hesitate to pay a little extra.Coming to the Multicopter stuff I've never faced any issues with small to medium quads (don't want to call them drones).Mi drone is always in my wish list but upon reading so many forums,It never made it to my cart :(.

So, I was planning to buy hubsan h216a x4 desire pro drone. Will it be able to clear customs (as per your experience) ?
Quadcopter Size: 180*180*60mm
Weight(including the battery):162g

size matters..... ;)
quad size doesn't matter, what matters is the size of package.Big packages attract customs officials easily.Lot of my products cleared customs without any duty even though the price was in the range of 150 to 200 USD as long as the package was small.
As long as your quad package is small and label doesn't mention 'drone' you are good to go.If your seller mention that 'drone' word anywhere on the shipping label chances of your quad seeing day light is none to non existent.
