I think you could do both without any problem. I've also carried my quad copter with me in flight as check-in baggage but that was two years ago!

I think the problem can arise if u go by plane, cause the baggage goes from X-ray machines and all... So if u take it with u and travel with railway I don't think u will be in trouble 😅😁.

Yes there is no problem using a courier. I've had a quad shipped from Delhi to Pune and back and through Fedex and there was no problem.

Thank Q all  for your valuable input .. i choose courier instead of carrying in flight .. nowadays flying drone in Indian sky become a hot topic. As of now i choose courier .. or else  Grin i will take drone by flying along side the plane ... this could be the best idea ...

Plane is fine too. I know someone who takes large 450 quads on flights regularly. Sometimes they make a fuss but if you explain what it is then they let it go.

What resolution?

It's not illegal to carry multirotors, only illegal to fly and import them.

India's civil aviation regulator, the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has banned all civil operations of drones in the Indian airspace since October 2014, subject to case-by-case approval granted by the DGCA and other concerned governmental agencies such as the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Defence, ...

Exactly, operation of drones is illegal. Carrying them with you is not.

Can't you take it with you on the flight? Just pack it in your bag, put lipo in carry on luggage.

Yes India Post.  There is no customs charged within India.  However Taxes may depends upon different state policies.  Just declare your parcel as gift if they ask or else no need to declare.  Just make sure you pack the stuff nice n tight. Thermocol n bubble wraps ll be great. After that wrap the entire stuff with a Polythene Bag (Plastic Bag). This is to protect the stuff from water.  you know there is a lot of rain everywhere.  Even if you send it through courier there ll be risk of rain water  so better take care of it by yourself.  That's it. They even charge a lot less than courier companies.  Good Luck.

Aakash Sir,  Are you putting a sticker on the parcel " Quadcopter Inside Handle Carefully". Just pack it tightly and drop to your nearest Post Office. They generally don't ask many questions.

Within India it doesnt go through any checks mostly. Moreover Indiapost people will never ask questions regarding whats inside. At the same time they wont bother what inside so its your responsibility to pack it securely. The item will be very safe in hands of Indiapost people. It also very cheap but good.

I hard yhe item has to be pack in front of post office . Which meant they will know what is inside so i asked to Dtdc courier after trying hard with Blue dart, positive sign in DTDC is that they can carry the item but i need to take risk with the package . For me once the item is reached in my destination then there is no issue with custom . The custom officer who is sitting in airport is a good friend of mine and i already contact him regarding drone and he told me to add his name with his contact details .. So lets see what they say today ... till then i pray for good news ..
