This really means everyone should start working on surfaces that can reflect laser beams ;)

Not an easy proposition.  Lasers to shoot down planes and missiles are old tech (ref: Reagan's Star Wars SDI Program from the 80's).  Anything on Youtube that relates to leading edge military weapons are suspect.  Not all is what it seems.

Have you heard of Durga and Kali (Kinetic Attack Loiter Interceptor) ?

the tech of DE wpns has matured, however it is a long way to go before it is used in an effective manner, (a)DE wpns draws a lot of energy, existing energy sources can slowly charge some electrolytic capacitor which can release the draw of energy fast, downside is charging these capacitors and time required to do so (b) keeping the directed energy on the target, especially manoeuvring target is difficult because whatever one says light still travels at finite speed (c) It is severely affected by weather clouds and fog

theleabres

it means not to mess with india too, i guess we are way ahead of the rest of the world in DE wpn tech and knowledge. in fact the brains of DE wpns of US are indians

Yeah people are inventing too many ways and machines to fight and kill and also the countermeasures to such weapons.  I prefer they spend their time and energy to promoting fun ways to spend lesuire time.  The last thing that interested me about laser weapons was the micro sized that zaps mosquitos.

Having lived in Switzerland known for its neutrality, there wasn't chat about weapons and war preparedness, no constant news of the "enemy."

While i fully endorse your view of Peace and Amity, we are a peace loving nation with no territorial ambition, be that as it may, embracing peace with credible deterrence and adequate national security prevents not so friendly neighbors from carrying out any misadventure, any weapon system needs to have a counter, that's how the policy of arms race works, remember it is in the interest of national security.

Amen

+1 any technology can be misused

Programming languages were developed to put computers to good use. While they still do, some jokers use the same to develop virus

RC models are good source of entertainment, till some bloke decides to stuff it with RDX and train it at some target.

Such options are endless....

So the future of RC will be the future of weapons?  At least humans might avoid killing each other?  So who decides who wins, the ones with the most toys remaining?
