Title: Looking for advice
Post by: Blue_Apple on July 24, 2010, 02:21:45 PM
Hello, everyone, i am new here and I want to find some professional tips here.
I want to buy a RC car for my brother as his birthday present, but I do not know much about that. I hope I can find some professional suggestions here.
I just found 2 models from Internet:
http://www.tinydeal.com/R005/fca8422-p-7718.html
From the ad I see that the car can run on the ceiling, can all RC cars also like this?
and the other one is
http://www.tinydeal.com/R005/fca8256-p-7641.html
This one is in mini palm size, maybe this can run faster than the first one?
My brother is 14 years old. I think that this models are toy models and may be suitable for a Middle School student.
Which one is better for a beginner and easy to use and more suitble for him?
I need some adviced and thank you in advance.

It is amazing how they make rc cars which can climb & can run on ceiling.
Anybody on earth would love to receive a birthday gift of such kind from his elder bother.

Present the 1st one to your beloved brother.

Note that the first one is good if you run it on flat and clean surface due to the fact that it runs using suction. If it falls down from a wall, its a piece of useless junk. My brother had got a similar wall climbing robot from US 10 yrs back and it climbed the wall only twice before it fell and broke. Really worth less. Also that car is infrared, meaning you cant use it outside.

Buy a car that can be used indoor and out door as well and that is more robust and should come with a rechargeble battery.

Hope this helps.

Yeah. But if you stick to the two options, the first one might be better. You can try a slightly better model. How much are you willing to spend? We can guide you based on that.

Do you mean that the Rc car I mentioned before just can be used indoor, is that right?

My budget before is $50, but I am not sure that, bucase I don't know how much will a RC model cost.

Infrared transmitters (the one with the red bulb and not the long antenna) wont work in sunlight, You can use it out doors at night or in the day time in shade, but the range reduces to few meters, Also that car cant run on rough. surfaces.

Thank you very much, but I am not about to tell him about that until his birthday, I want to give him a surprise, haha~
However, I am still choosing a good model for him and I still can not make my decision```
