Practice, and only Practice will make you perfect

not all that is written is true, for instance

(a) There is something called SELCAL. You could selectively call a particular aeroplane, he/she doesn't need to listen to all calls

(b) Flight plan is online and most aeroplanes are in touch with their shop floor. For any tech malfunction advice

(c) There are cameras everywhere, i travelled in Boeing 777 from here to Germany and Paris, practically in the cockpit all the time, it records everything, all activities everywhere on the flight (Except the washroom i guess)

(d) There is TCAS, Traffic Collision Avoidance Sytem. A very helpful system especially flying over Europe where the traffic density is so high

(e) Autopilots are much more reliable, in fact with CAT IIIC ILS, i am told the autopilot can bring you to the parking bay after landing, automatically.

The author is Time Frozen, atleast in most part of his article, and obviously he is not a qualified accident investigation specialist like some of us. therefore the disconnect

So very true, the technologies used today were mostly invented during WWII.
Jet propulsion, rocket engines it's basically the same as 1940's. There is always a limit to the extent envy to which a certain technology can the enhances, as now is the case it become stagnent after a while

Thanks

No two thoughts about the importance of tractability as mentioned in the article; the discussion is about ignorance/indifferent view towards new technologies by the Authorities.

to understand it better i have an example. In Punjab, if you send an email to a Govt. official, they (mostly) need a hard copy hand delivered/faxed instead of an email. Supreme Court took lot of time to accept Email as a legally valid document.

I feel its too early for Authorities in aviation to accept the NEW & DYNAMIC technologies because they are still evolving and authorities may not like to do a trial & error instead want to trust the most reliable and 'non dynamic' nature of the technology they are using.

just a perspective; facts & realities may be different.

For those interested read up on Airbus "flight control laws"

I'm sure Boeing must be having something quite similar.

latest is that it was a human trafficking issue, transponder was switched off deliberately and it was last tracked (Probably by radar at Air Force Butterworth at Penang) going in the opposite direction in the straits of Malacca.

There is more to this Mystery

Theories are building up and some of them being as absurd as plane been hijacked by elves and is right now suspended in air to people comparing it with US TV series LOST. Malaysian Airchief is also going back on his statement. Relatives have also reported that cell phones of victims are still ringing, go figure.
Meanwhile wonder what the families are going through.

There are so many different theories, that it is nearly impossible to figure out what, how or why. Some people are saying the plane was abducted by aliens, while a seer says some elves hijacked it, while another bunch of people could call up phones of their relatives not he flight. Some people even commented that the governments are trying to cover up something or the other that they know with regards to the aircraft.

Initially Airforce Base Butterworth confirmed that MH370 was detected on the radar, but then they denied it fairly rapidly. (Kind of fishy) (Some pilots might be able to to tell us whether a transponder can send a stray signal that wrongly identifies it)

Another theory is that the plane landed in another enemy country after the hijacking and everyone is safe.

I highly doubt the Emergency Locator Beacon isn't transmitting signals at all, since it is designed to send out signals on impact with water.

Whatever be the truth, I suspect something is being hidden from the world for some reason or the other.

There is more to it, than what the world knows about it

One more note on how better tracking could have been available for a small amount.  But if this again was something that can be manually turned off from the cockpit, then at least in some cases its purpose would also be deleted.

One of the reports says that there was a large consignment of Lipo batteries going to China in the Malaysian plane.

Worrying thing.
