Brings up another important topic, how important is the tail fin ? Even on many RC "flying wings", there is a vertical piece at the tip of each wing, but then planes like the B-2 stealth bomber has no vertical surface :headscratch: Title: Re: New airplane design mimics a sea-gull Post by: SunLikeStar on November 23, 2010, 09:57:29 AM I read somewhere that the B2 uses computer controlled air brakes at the edge of the wings for keeping it lined in the wind. But then how do eagles cut through high winds without any vertical surface.
