RC India - Flying and racing with open minds !

Apparent he does not understand what a drone is.  He thinks being mechanically similar makes something a drone... and the moment the word "drone" is used, it becomes newsworthy (in the eyes of ignorant public/journalists).

It is clear that there are tons of people here who have done 10x and 100x of what this kid claims to have done and is taking undue credit for.

@anwar ji i agree. Journalists and the Public are ignorant about this and they think this is something new and create a hype. Which he is taking advantage of big time.

he is clearly In this hobby (or a part of it) because he wants to do fpv.
a person who likes rc flying puts some sweat into making their scratchbuilds look beautiful.. then there is this guy....
as for cost, I would say that now courtesy rcbazaars new rcb6i radio, one can get into this hobby in as little as Rs 6k!

No harm in doing FPV, but he should stop giving far fetched details (10km range etc) and then telling that he will fly it to a max of 200m so that he can 'keep it in control' .
If he wants to do FPV there are many members here who are more than willing to help him out. He should stop making such bogus claims. The media has given it pointless hype because he used the word 'drone' that made it a new invention.

He is saying he has written to DRDO asking them to take over his project so that he can do much more in this area.

DRDO is making far more complicated systems than what he has made. It just hasn't made its achievements public for national security reasons. If Mr. Subhanjan Saha wants to work for DRDO or similar agencies and make a real drone, then he should study hard and learn more of AEROMODELLING, Communication Techniques, Control Systems Design and Spectrum Analysis, to name a few. He then should sit for Scientist Entry Test conducted by the DRDO every year.

Head Scratching Head Scratching If you understand how a newspaper business runs! no one would have raised this topic at all.

news of this sort are the fillers/timepass/no serious types. in my view and experience with media whole newspaper is a times pass with news based on assumptions and the limited knowledge of a reporter.

This is actually a dangerous chemistry! less information, low domain knowledge when combines with reporters limited intellect a NEWSPAPER report born.

I am not saying that they are wrong. I am trying to convey that NEWS is a very responsible job but due to pressing deadlines and market competition; page filing had become important (becuse more pages will give more Advt. space).

I can see a signal booster sitting on the Tx from the pic in reply #21, must be in effort to achieve a longer range. Not 10km with that setup definitely.

RC India - Flying and racing with open minds !

write a letter to the editor : they will print it and they are bound to wake up

This is the right thing to do.  Who has written already ? Scammers like this need to be exposed.

He is reading this thread, but not responding to basic questions in public. In private, he blames the newspapers for calling "rc models" as "drones".  When asked why did you not correct the journalists, he ran away from the question Smiley

He is fully aware that there are many many here who have achieved much more than what he has done. I guess he is just embarrassed at this point, and all he can do now is to run.

He has deleted his Facebook account since his scam was getting exposed when confronted with technical details and validity for his overhyped claims in his page. He has deleted/blocked all those whose comments were exposing his hyperventilating to Media in his Youtube page. He has no intention of correcting himself. He is still compulsive in defending his claim may be still out of sheer embarrassment.

And going through certain comments on his profile it is evident he is now trying to defend himself. The NGO that's funded him is also being misguided most probably since they are furiously defending him and his models.
