I guess 3D printing will usher in a new era of manufacturing technology. CNC machining centers will be things of the past. Title: Re: World's First Aircraft from 3D Printer Post by: sushil_anand on August 12, 2011, 04:02:49 PM It says "nylon laser sintering". Sintering is a process of fusing powders - usually metal - under heat and pressure. Sintered bronze bearings are made with this method. It results in microscopic pores which retain the lubricant.
Title: Re: Printed aircraft Post by: iamahuman on August 12, 2011, 07:14:57 PM Thanks for the answer Sushil sir. Very interesting technology. Seems too simple. Apart from costs, what are the other hurdles in the implementation of this? Probably materials?
