I dont mind if they do indeed look like BL Motors as long as they ares messy, fiddly, make noise and let out smoke

Ujju,
Old timers dare not put synth fuel in an old timer engine as that is end of the engine. Unlike todays ABC, if you run a cast and lapped iron piston you better stick to castor and standard was 25% by volume
And did you know? You do not have to search far for a RC steam engine. The makers from Kolkata are here on the forum. Check Pline website
