Title: Refill Fuel-pump for Gas engine
Post by: Aeroresurrect on November 24, 2019, 10:35:03 PM
Newly acquired NGH GT9 gas engine being readied for bench test.
I propose to use the fuel-pump which I used for nitro fuel for filling gasoline tank.
Of course, I intend to use Tygon draw and delivery tubes with the pump when using gasoline.
Hope using a common pump for nitro / gas fuel would not be a problem.
User's advice solicited....

You can usuallya use the same fuel pump, but as you said you need to use tygon tubing for gasoline.
Ehtanol mixed gasoline (pump gas) will soften silicone and slowly eat it. You may also wanna add some ethanol treatment like stabil marine that I use to prolong the life of gasoline and neutralize the effect of ethanol.

I always use stabil marine with gasoline.
Pumped gas has 10% ethanol which is the main cause of most of the problems related to carburettor. Ethanol degrades diaphragm in the carbs over a period of time. I dont think you get ethanol free gas in India anymore.

Stabil Marine is available on amazon India. A little expensive but its worth the cost. A bottle lasts for almost 100 gallons which I believe is good enough for 2 years of usage.

Ideal treatment ratio is around 1 ml per litre of gas

Thanks, Saurabh.
Shall treat the gas as you advised.
