otherwise nobody is gonna take the responsibility to get it cleared coz who knows what in it ..i hope you understand. i suppose its a diy rc project i can help u out after 15th to clear it. until then try writing to them and explaining what it has, mostly they will clear it. if u are in a college ask ur college to write a letter saying its for a college project etc or maybe other guys on forum will help u out. its a shame that customs blocks 'drones' etc. even though they are being freely sold in the market at a higher price. :-/ Title: Re: Retention Reason : Retained by customs for unspecified reason Post by: vishu17 on November 07, 2018, 11:38:20 AM Its a laptop motherboard.

You need to call them and ask the reason for retention. Most of the time parcel is retained due to undervaluing of the product by seller. You need to send them invoice and payment deduction details on their email. It will be released soon but you need to pay upto 42% duty of the invoice value in this case. I apologised for my tone having hurt the other person, not for the content of my response. I am quite fed up with our forum having become a virtual clearing house for customs issues. The truth is that people come across this forum when they google any customs issue. And why is that? Because our own members reply to such posts, either with the best of intentions to help, or to show off their knowledge of how to get customs clearance. I request members to simply NOT RESPOND TO QUERIES UNCONNECTED TO OUR HOBBY. I could of course have simply locked the thread so that no reply is possible. I refrain, as I don’t think this forum owner likes that kind of censorship. So I usually tell such posters to refrain, usually politely, but sometimes with irritation. Amazingly, some later became my internet friends! So, members, please stop responding to non hobby related posts (remember the guy whose SHOES were stuck in customs, and he came here for help? Or the lady whose FOOD PARCELS got stuck?)
