Thats cool! The way the wing came off I thought it was all part of the show.... until it burst into flames!!  Shocked I guess next time he should add a fire suppression system as well (the type on race cars) Giggle

I never thought of it  Head Scratching   Grin You would definitely need a channel and a servo etc. But I am not sure if that para glider can be opened by pulling a string on it. Like parachute jumping people do. Wink

Cut it dudes... these are for Para-Motor.  Definitely not for planes. For safety landing, you need ones which doesn't need control input to fly properly and should safely land on its own. in short , the classic 'Circular' Parachute and not a para-glider like this. AFAIK, they put similar for safety in 'Microlight/Ultralight planes called 'Second Chance'..

Find a lightest polythene pack cut open to make a big sheet.
cut it to a hexagon or octagon shape or a round shape. tie some strings (kite thread is best) make sure the strings are double the length of the size of the chute.
tie all open end of the strings together and your parachute is ready. do a test by adding some weight approx equivalent to your plane and throw it from a height.. see it the landing is perfect and not banging on the ground. if it is hard landing then increase the size of chute by sticking more sheets together.
Please side : cut open one hatch which can easily fit the folded parachute (not tightly). add a servo and paste or screw the horn directly on the hatch cover and put it to a empty channel or landing gear channel.

This is what i will be doing in my Fokker

Check another eg.

Servo will be used only for letting the parachute away from the plane when triggered. the chute will open on it own weight. but make sure that the plane is on a good height before letting the chute out or releasing.

1 thing which i forgot to tell is not to use any chutes around the front side from the prop of any pusher plane!

Fly High

Not onky in planes butalso in multis..
The new zero uav 1000 octo has a similar second chance mechanism..
Which looks really nice.. in multis it is not a second chance its a third chance..
Already failsafe is there as secon chance;D;D
