hello forum members

i have experienced that LHS  supply us old lipo batteries wherewith  they give  less life i.e 1yr to 1.5 yrs.

Therefore, i  want to know,  how to check the date of manufacture of lipo batteries so in future i can buy latest lipo batteries for LHS

hi,
well that can be hard to say, even if you have date of production you wont be able to say how long the lipo will last. lipo life depends on lot of factors such as how was it assembled, stored, used etc.

the best is to see the individual cell resistance, for a new lipo each cell resistance will be almost similar, as it gets older you'll see a noticeable variation of individual cell resistance.

physically an old lipo might show signs of puffiness.

IR is a way to determine LiPO health. But its not determining factor for age. I have some 2 year lipos with very low IR and that give me great flight performance. But I use carefully, only charge before flight and immediately bring to storage after flight. Also I avoid going below 3.8 volts during flights.

But there have been unfortunate moments too, when I have had puffed lipos after a couple of flights, I find that the Low Mah Lipos which are less than 600 Mah capacity generally go bad faster . Higher capacity Lipo s 1000+ , 1500, 1800, 2200  tend to have better longevity, and their IR also stays low for longer time.
