I am of the view that a forums sucess is based on its impartiality and that which allows free exchange of ideas and information. Hobby shop owned forums have a disadvantage on this count as 1) It would take a long time to convince users about impartiality , infact they would have to take extra efforts more than normal to prove it to the members. 2) They would have to watch every action as even a small slip could lead to wrong impressions . 3) Any product review by the store of products sold by them would always be discounted despite they being true. I think the above could be one of the reasons for the success of independent forums the world over as against Shop owned forums . RC India's sucess of over 250 posts in 15 days proves this point ;D. The success of any forum is in numbers, and the variety of skillset, experience and initiative of a wide range of people. It will happen in due course, and we are helping in any way we can. At the same time, we do not want the forum to be just an advertising platform for sellers. Genuine content needs to be developed; including build threads, discussion of local fields, meeting times of RC clubs etc. Most importantly, we need people to help others in their locality, and let this forum just be a meeting place that kicks off such activity.
