Safari Dicor.. I am a complete SUV lover or rally pedigree like the one I currently drive - Lancer SFXi. If you need a affordable family car + SUV capabilities then Innova is also a good option but I kinda hate its looks.

My next car should be Endeavor though, no other car can beat it in the segment.

Good value for money and spacious too. Affordable and performance is good. I guess this should fit your bill. Smiley

ya..even I am considering it...but getting some negative reviews on the maintenance side...so asking for a unbiased review from an owner who is into aeromodelling...

Scorpio or the new down-priced Safari. Xylo at its price is pretty good. All these are family vehicles that "can also be driven within a city". Good for long distances and surely can take planes of these sizes. Don't go by online reviews, its extremely misleading and most review writers are barely eligible to write reviews leave alone being first time drivers of these vehicles and have no clue what to look for nor what to comment on.

High spirits we have: gravity we flout.

Safari, my friend has one and he manages to carry two mountain bikes and bike repair stuff in it. He has traveled all over the country with it and give really good reviews about it. He bought it "second hand" for 4L from first choice.

RC India - Flying and racing with open minds !

When we had this discussion among friends, it was the Scorpio.  They did mention changing the tyres for better handling at highway speeds.

take a test drive of both for yourself. Mahindra cars have one problem of very soft suspention, so they wobble unnecesarily. Safari does has some drawbacks too, first being an aging technology and others related to handling..not the best in its class and Mahindra take the prize here for handling. Lancer, aging technology, very expensive service and parts but still outshow most existing sadans in the segment. You can get a decent secondhand model for just 3L approx. Not to mention that it got huge luggage too, but not as much as you can get in any of the other twos we discussed.

I think the safari and Scorpio would not be more spacious in second row for six feet tall persons...

Well... none of the Indian car maker design a car considering 6 ft tall person, although Japanese people are even smaller but Toyota does consider 6ft tall people as they have same models in US & other nations as well. Innova will fit in 6ft nicely.

Mahindra is spacious only from outside, interiors are very congested and very hoshposh. Another advantage of lancer here, they got huge leg space in both front and back seat... just take a test drive Smiley

Never judge a car from the outside! Iv been in many SUV's and for some reason i like the sumo for space. Its got LOTS of space.  Give it a try just for the sake of it. Endavour has enough space in it for anything! Its got a stance you just dont find in other vehicles (kinda scares me when i see it in the rearview mirror) - look at this if buget permits- maybe a second hand.. Safari i feel is too cramped. No idea about mahindra. Innova is AWESOME from the inside but i HATE it from the outside. I always end up behind an innova while riding to college - my friends have niknamed it "traffic jam". Cheesy

yeah blame it on Microsoft, they have the biggest fleet of Innova cabs in BLR followed by logan, sumo is all about space and no comfort and most TATA cars for that matter. I call it a truck, endevour as my budget permits I will get it and for sure second hand as they stopped the model I like. new one looks girly....
