With almost 3 (lazy) months in my FA-22 built, I was reading more about F-22 (Production stopped by US senate in April 2009), and saw comparable planes.
Sukoi PAK FA was one of them. The Wikipedia page on the Sukhoi  listed our very own Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in joint development plan.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sukhoi_PAK_FA
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sukhoi/HAL_FGFA

With the HAL Runway just stone throw distance from my office, I feel so near, so far.

Any HAL person for any update on it? I have seen few really crazy, otherwise alien planes for Indian sky touching down the HAL tarmac from my cafeteria.  I guess I should spend a weekend from my office rooftop spot these planes (sans any illegal equipment like radio like real plane spotters)

Ujwanna, looks like you are located at Embassy Golf links right???
BTW HAL does not have any development project for Sukhoi at Bangalore.
Bangalore mainly handles aircraft of western oringing Ruski A/c's are spread out elsewhere.
What you have at B'lore is the CABS (not part of HAL) which evaluates various developments, had a close friend flying with them he was killed March last while testing the NAL Saras

Yes Captain... I am working in the EGL Park complex. I think due to CABS test project, I have witnessed the F-18 /Gripin /Typhoons.. Sad to hear about your friend. Flying is such a dangerous business. We would be curious to know your professional experience. We have so less people from real flying/Aero Engineering here on the forum.

Capt, With due regard and respect, why does everyone call you Captain ?
I thought you were with HAL and an aeronautic engineer/pilot of Capt rank. Anyhow your knowledge about aviation is way above most of us, so the title is well deserved.

Well! that is because I used to wear an olive green uniform and was authorised to put on three golden stars on the epaulettes on each shoulder along with crest badges on the cap and belt before deciding to hang up my boots.
To simply put it, was with the Indian Army
