Title: vehicle passing
Post by: yashjalta on April 26, 2016, 03:00:05 PM
Hi,

I have bought two trucks recently in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. These are commercial vehicles. I have already applied for registration at Siliguri Kolkata. The RTO office have provided me the Vehicle registration number but will only give the RC and other docs once they have physically inspected the vehicles. For that i have to get the vehicles from Jamshedpur to siliguri. The sales tax authority on the Jharkhand-West Bengal border need some sort of Waybill. They want me to fill form 50A and pay a whole lot of money i.e Sales Tax 14.5% and 1% entry fees. I don't understand when i have already paid sales tax to Jharkhand which is 14% why should i pay more? i understand the entry tax but the rest is just painful to pay. Does anyone know the whole procedure??

Note -  The invoice is billed to an address in Kolkata but the delivery was in Jamshedpur

get a letter from the local supdt of taxes (under which circle you have paid the sales tax) stating that
the sales tax has already been collected.

also get a document called the "sales tax clearance certificate". the same
supdt will be able to issue it.

show these two at the border check gate.

you will need a waybill.

by the way - why do you not register the vehicles at jharkhand ?
