Not really RC.
Prosaic dreams.
Other than my 1972 Herald, long gone, and my 1955 Millecento, rusting since 1998,
My dream cars are
Mercedes 180d 1959
VW Karman Ghia
Triumph Spitfire
Etc
This is old men's stuff.
Look up control line in 1957 in a site called Supercool Propellers.

Seriously - I would love to possess ne of these. Open to serious offers, if anyone has one to sell. The vehicle should have NO modifications whatsoever, including a petrol engine. I am not looking at mileage. Also open to junked vehicles, but they must be of appropriate (pre 1947) vintage.

@ KK Iyer: The Triumph Spitfire is not exactly an old man's car, but definitely a MAN's car Grin
I have multiple dream cars, cuz cars are all that I dream about!! Tongue But an old skyline is definitely near the top of my list!! Modded off-course..  >Cheesy

I've had the good fortune of being close to a Triumph Spitfire for many years. A neighbour of mine in Kolkata owned one, and I've had several joyrides in it. He offered to let me drive it once and I chickened out. The other Super Car that I chickened out from driving (in 1992) was the Jaguar E Type.

K.K. Iyer Sir, I am not trying to rub it in, but as a kid I remember a sports car that eventually junked and went to a scrapyard below a building called Khaitan House on Lake Road, Kolkata. It had a soft or black top the car was otherwise white. Everytime that I passed it, I would wonder how it could just sit there and do NOTHING at all. Never saw it running. It was a white Karmann Ghia. One day it disappeared. I hope it found a good home.

The Karmann that I knew looks strangely familiar to this vehicle. Found it via google at www.team-bhp.com. I hope it is the same car, in that case it has reached a restorer in the UK.

Also old Bullets restored to original

What's that Datsun Z series? I forget the number.

Saw a Range Rover in Indore yesterday that looked (nearly) as low as an E Type!

Remember the original article on the Honda CB750 in Cycle? 1979?

Here is another long cherished dream. Met this beautiful example in Guwahati a few days ago. Stunning beauty! For me it was love at first sight, pity the owner loves her just as much and is NOT willing to let her go. She was an anniversary gift to his wife. Can't argue with that.

Aha! We talkin bikes now? This ones my baby. I waited 25 years for her and she's mine. I acquired her (and learnt to ride a bike) at 41 so that I could tame her.  Eat your heart out.

Vishwa, whoever butched those Jeeps, especially the Ford edition, deserves to be shot. What a pitiful destruction. Bang Head

Not many car mags left but still have some Aeromodeller issues from say 1957?, MAN, Flying Models, RCM&E, Cycle, Cycle guide etc from the 70s

Dream cars. Forgot Bug, Mini, Fiat 500, 2CV, MGB, Bug Eye Sprite, Triumph Dolomite. Aaaaaargh
Triumph Terrier, BSA Bantam, James 125.
Forget about Norton Dominators, BSA Gold Stars, RE Crusader (not the Indian one)
Dont even talk about Vincents, Velocettes, Indians or Harleys.

VC, shame on you. You never ever mentioned that you have an RD 350. I may still have the original article on the giant killer RD 350.

Will start looking for an original Jeep for you.

Praveen Jose,
I have seen that all Mallus have beautiful Bullets.
Except me. My 1975 has been rotting in the rain since 1992, along with my 1956 RE Ensign, 1955 Millecento (and a few others)
Post your pics, man. Many admirers. Like me.

VC Sir,
Do you want an original 1st owner 1985 Maruti Van, used only for ferrying models to the field. Just over 1 lac km on the clock. All original, but expired life time tax. Allotment no. 40. Still has Tested OK sticker.

My (pipe) dream is to return to Lucknow after i retire later this year, and restore (again) my
1955 Fiat Millecento, last restored 1986
1956 RE Ensign 150, last restored 1971
1975 Bullet, last started in 1992
1984 Chetak, last started 1987
1985 Maruti Van no. 40. Last started 2008
Hero Honda Splendor (B in laws) of around 2000.
TVS Scooty of 2001, last started 2012
All with expired road tax and insurance!

As well as
Miss World (1980?) with original OS 20 or older Merco 35.
Schoolmarm with 2 cc diesel
My old OD Glider with releasable towhook and split rudder airbrake (1980). Anyone heard of such things?
Chipmunk for Mills 1.3 FF
Druine Turbulent
Mercury Marvin CL for 1.5 cc. Have a new OS 10 saved up for last 5-10 years
Goldberg Piper Cub bought in England in 1996. (Just started using the Super Tigre 40 bought with it)
Graupner Ultra Stunter from plans
Small Keil Kraft, Veron, Guillow etc kits 30-50 years old.

If I've waited 50 years, a few more cant do any harm, can they?

Moderator Sir,
It occurred to me that this post should actually be in a new thread 'Oldies Goldies', or some such
