Apart from the reasons mentioned, IMHO, Education system in India didnt promote independent thinking and innovation. A system hellbent on passing and gaining grades.

if a student is different; whole class and teacher make sure that his life is made hell! Had Edison born in India and studied in Indian Education system :banghead:................He would have selling cholla bhatura at CP in Delhi (A deaf seller precisely).

Reason is clear, instead of talking about superficial reasons for Indian lagging behind innovation we should understand and attack root cause.

If India could manufacture its own Fighter Aircraft and Main Battle Tanks and Submarines, how could our MP's and MLA's become billionaires? Come on guys, smell the coffee. You think we lack the knowledge? BS - knowledge is FREE courtesy Google. Knowledge is stifled by a little red ribbon. Yep, we call it Red Tape. Jai Hind!

The legendary Kurt Tank ( The creator of the FW 190) couldn't convince the Indian Think Tank to invest in the development of the HF24 Marut (which saw action in the Battle of Longewala). So we bought the MiGs, Jaguars and Mirages instead.

The 100 room 3 Star Hotel next to my home belongs to a Minister. His Father is a poor agriculturist (read Farmer) and the Honourable Minister  has served 2 terms in this State.

Sau me se Nabbay beimaan, fir bhi Mera Bharat Mahaan.

Jai Hind!  :giggle:
