What would the hacker get by doing this? Is he that jobless?

It was in late 1990's that Hacking used to socially outcast's job. We used to submit keygens for Apps at Code.box.sk and Cult of Dead Cow sites just to get in 'Hall of Fame'

now Hackers make more money than IT laborers. They sell Credit Card Details and even people'e entire Identity details in package of 50/100s. You can even hire lease their  Botnets do a dDos attacks on competitor's site or  hire them to hack sites altogether.

Title: Re: MULTIPLEX Kits from RCDhamaka
Post by: atul_pg on January 12, 2011, 06:59:12 PM
Yes it was Sai's website. It seems the hacker is aware of all Indian LHS websites..

Does this mean, paying from websites is not secure ?

Title: Re: MULTIPLEX Kits from RCDhamaka

Does this mean, paying from websites is not secure ?

I would *Never* pay through any site which is not *Daily* Certified by Security companies like Verisign/ETrust/McAfee etc.

Paying through well known sites likes PayPal, Cashoo etc is also fine but one has to be sure each time they pay that some fishing site instead of actual site get open at the checkout. I still take this care even with Hobby King on my each purchase.

Even vksingh uncle's website(rcelectro.com) was hacked recently.

Title: Re: MULTIPLEX Kits from RCDhamaka
Post by: SunLikeStar on January 12, 2011, 08:04:44 PM
just hope this is only at file level. if they/he has got in the database then i hope RCD has good backup routine. If they have a backup then recovery is easy, preventing it from happening again is a challenge. The only thing disturbing me is the timing of this hack.

They sell Credit Card Details and even people'e entire Identity details ..
In India the hottest hacking business right now is cellphone numbers, a garenteed live number sells for 6 rs each and others for 4 rs.

Paying should not be a problem (only in case of known LHS) as long as we pay attention on the url of payment gateway. In worst  the website can get hacked when we return from the payment gateway; then we can just inform the LHS that we have just made a payment of xyz amount....

If one looks hard and long enough, holes can be found in ANY system :(

One has to be very careful in their research, with the most focus on security, while selecting their forum/cart/CMS software.  And one needs to stay updated with the latest patches, for both the operating system and the cart/forum software.  In spite of all this, things are broken down using "zero-day" vulnerabilities.

For RCD, while you can order the stuff online no need to use your card on the site, simply get thier bank account number and trf from your bank. Atleast this way you can not blame RCD for any lekage/theft of your bank details.
That is how I transact with them

How come the prices at RCDhamaka for the same Multiplex models are about 40% - 50% cheaper as compared to another prominent Indian LHS. What's the catch?

Easystar @ Rs.3960 (RCD) as compared to Rs. 7850 as quoted by the other LHS

Funjet Ultra @ Rs. 6397 (RCD) as compared to Rs. Rs.10500

Parkmaster @Rs.6948 (RCD) as compared to Rs.9800

What's up? Are hidden costs involved, like shipping for example, which equalise the deal, somewhat?

Am  confused as to how two members on the same platform can quote such diverse prices for identical products. Could someone please explain? Are their any hidden costs involved, Team RCD?

With no malice or offence intended to anyone, I'm sorry if I dared to hit the nail square on the head - something that many others wanted to, for quite some time now (I'm sure) ......................

Regards.

Title: Re: MULTIPLEX Kits from RCDhamaka
Post by: anwar on January 18, 2011, 12:16:18 AM
The key difference would be the "dealership" aspect, which can significantly reduce the pricing. Dealers would need to buy certain minimum quantities (which are often not very small !).

I was really surprised during my recent trip to a "factory outlet"/wholesale market in China where buying 1 or 2 pieces of anything would cost say 100% (or they would say we don't have individual pieces), at the same time buying at least one carton of the same item (which would have 5 to 120 pieces, depending on the item) would cost only 45% !  It was a shock that the the wholesale price was not even 50%, it was below 50% !!

RCDhamaka has taken a Auth Dealership for Multiplex, as per my knowledge. And I dont think RCD puts any **Hidden** price than obvious shipping (used to be free for planes for a while) and Taxes.

Just to highlight some facts, getting Multiplex planes from RCDhamaka is now cheaper that ordering it from Towers + Shipping. I am not mentioning almost sure shot Customs duties and hassles attached with clearance.

This is also an important lesson for anyone who wants to get into the LHS business. They need to pick a few good brands, and go for dealerships.  There is no point in getting a bit of everything !

ordered an easystar today, this is how it went
Rs.3,960.00Sub-Total:
Rs.400.00 Zone Rates (Shipping to IN (8.00Kg(s))):
Rs.198.00 Vat @ 5%:
Rs.4,558.00 Total:
fair deal i'd say. will order one more tomorrow maybe a parkmaster or a easy glider or cularis, i have all night to decide :)

Yes if the price is good i would love to have a  mentor. See i like big planes and mentor has the largest wingspan (multiplex models)apart from a glider that's why i am having second thoughts over mentor or funcub. maybe i will buy both. but one thing is sure the prices your are offering are superb. hats off to you

It is just an indication of how much LHSes can do, if they go after specific brands, even if they are not the "cheap" ones.  There are a lot of people willing to spend on quality stuff, who are shying back due to shipping costs from international sellers.

Title: Re: MULTIPLEX Kits from RCDhamaka
Post by: atul_pg on January 18, 2011, 11:46:49 AM
Cannot agree more...

All the local LHS's need is some kind of sponsorship or more franchisees at an affordable rate..

And customers like us need hassle free, quality products with cheap prices :D

Nope, I have seen multiple people build Multiplex planes with epoxy.  In fact, at the Ultimate Heli RC shop in Dubai, they said they do it ALL THE TIME, and is the preferred method.

They do use a high quality brand of epoxy named "Z-Poxy" from "Pacer" who is a market leader in this segment :

Ohh no.. this always happens. Once you get hacked, you have to patch the hole. All hackers keep a log of websites they were able to crack in.

What is the brand name in India? Is it available in Delhi/NCR?

Title: Re: MULTIPLEX Kits from RCDhamaka
Post by: Sanjeev Shah on January 26, 2011, 10:09:48 AM
Super Glue is also called cyno & in India we have brands like fevi kwik, locktite and metlock etc.
Get a medium viscosity one. Please do not you epoxy as it does not bond the elapor but on the long run hardens and creates a layer where in you can peel it out.

RCD!, Acromaster is waiting for servos, cut dimensions are exact for HS 65 and HS 85, wondering whether i need 85MG instead of BB.

My acromaster and powerpack (Until I find the right power pack). this aircraft like always traveled at some supersonic speed and reached me. Foam is great (Nothing i have ever seen), everything is superb. German engineering at Indian Price (there is no Made in ...tag, i want to believe it is German [looking at the quality])

Dear RCDhamaka,

Are you selling Xeno only as a slope soarer or do you also have its power pack (motor mount, bearing, shaft, prop , other accessories etc) for sell?

Title: Re: MULTIPLEX Kits from RCDhamaka

Xeno power-pack is sold separately and it costs almost twice the aircraft.

Bakya, I know what you were asking.
No they don't sell it an I don't think they will stock it any time soon as it is one of most unsuccessful (in the market) product they have made. And do you really want to buy a 8K rs. power setup ??? when you can make one for 2K rs.

Definitely not, i am in the favor of making one, but i was asking for someone we both know.

Ok. I just don't want you to buy it.
Any ways if someone really wants it, then the power pack can be easily bought from tower hobbies without any problem as the weight is less than 100 grams.

Not sure why this motor is being recommended by rcdhamaka. Ideally the motor should be a front mount motor(mount holes in the front) so that it nicely fits inside the slot provided in the new design.

You can go for a     NTM Prop Drive 28-26 1350KV or a 1800kv motor.
Depends on what application you use your easystar.
I went with a small parts outrunner mount with which you can fit any motor till a  9 inch prop.
