After a complete build and successful flying of D-51 Mustang my next build is Spitfire.
The Spitfire was the backbone of Royal Air force in world war 2 against German Luftwaffe fighters. It preformed action in the European, Mediterranean, Pacific and the South-East Asian theaters. Much loved by its pilots, the Spitfire served in several roles, including interceptor, photo-reconnaissance, fighter-bomber and trainer, and it continued to serve in these roles until the 1950s.
Most impressive thing is it's elliptical wing design to reduce cross-section and increase speed.
I will try to keep every thing straight and simple.
I got the plan of 52" Spitfire from RcGroups. I must say it is well designed. The only problem is that it is for balsa kit. I've been building balsa models for last three years. But i decided to make it from Foam, Balsa, Ply and some aluminium or CF reinforcement.

Good work. You can get the plan printed on vinyl sheet and it costs the same. The vinyl sheet lasts very long and many last your a few years of regular use. I been doing the same. Try it...

time to cut the plan and takeout foam piece.
Basically fuselage is to be designed in two parts one is upper and other is lower half, they stick like closing tiffin box.
formers are also from 10mm biofam marked as F1, F2...
then formers are stick with base plate. I inserted a aluminium 8mm center spar for removing flexibility.

time to take out Tail, Fin and rudder parts.
I took two identical foam pieces, stick them by fevicol and sand them in Symmetrical aerofoil.

Now this is the most interesting part, i want it look real scale.
For that i'll have to put lots of extra effort because from my last build of Mustang i saw wing portion had wrinkle which i didn't like at all.
